I know the $5400 might not be much to some, but as a full-time college student, it was a huge decision (which I was forced into when a car swiped my 99 SV out from under me last August). Like most of the people on bikes around here, I don't have a garage, and $150/month is too much for local parking shelters. I can't seem to find any review of security options that compares things like price, features, or level of effectiveness. Most of the locks, chains and cables aren't that expensive, so I think it would be nice to see MO or someone else do a comprehensive test of the equipment that's out there. Everyone says to buy Kryptonite, which is apparently the brand to beat in this area, but I'm an admitted information junkie, and I need more. Plus, I know somebody wants to see how well "Kryptonium" (TM) stands up to a carbide cutting wheel. Help me out here, MO.
