Riverside Beware, Something For The Dirt MOFO's

By George Obradovich, Oct. 14, 2004
Apparently Riverside, California is trying to make having a backyard or 50 track illegal. Here is the text from Cyclenews online:

According to Ann McGrath, the mother of supercross/motocross legend Jeremy McGrath, there is currently a movement underway in Riverside County (California) that will restrict those wanting to ride motorcycles on their own property.

The movement is apparently being pushed through the county planning office by a group of horse enthusiasts in the county, according to McGrath.

There will be a public hearing on the matter at the Riverside County Planning Office's ground floor on October 20. Those wishing to voice their feelings on the matter are encouraged to attend.

In addition, e-mails can be sent to Mark Balys, the deputy planning director who is working on the project, at [email protected] For more information, visit

(all the way at the bottom of the page)

The proposal is to amend ordinance #348 which provides "development and siting standards for off highway vehicle usage within the unincorporated areas of Riverside County."

Stay tuned.

Kind of Scary !!!! Not being able to ride a motorcycle on your own property.
