Roehr Motorcycles has released more information about its line of electric sportbikes including two street models and a higher-spec racing version.

According to Italys Sportmediaset, Stoner, currently in the final year of his contract with Ducati Marlboro, will replace Dani Pedrosa who is also in the final year of his contract with Repsol Honda.

Set to launch over the summer, Speed2 will be available to Speed subscribers as an authenticated online network. A beta version is scheduled to debut in June while a wider release will be available in July.

Bayliss, who won WSBK titles in 2001, 2006 and 2008 with Ducati, rode a Ducati Xerox 1198 development bike in a two-day test at the Mugello Circuit in Italy. The Italian manufacturer ended its ties with importer Canadian Scooter Corp. in November 2009. Instead, Piaggio Group Americas (PGA) is handling Canadian distribution itself out of its New York office, in conjunction with managers in Toronto and Montreal.

Replacing the BT-021 (except in original equipment applications), the Battlax BT-023 tire uses a new rubber compound enhanced with silica and RC polymer to offer strong wet performance and wear life. Both front and rear tires incorporate a high-tech belt package consisting of Bridgestone Corporations proven Mono Spiral Belt (MSB) which enhances grip levels, bump absorption and straight-line stability. In addition to these advancements, 3LC (Dual Compound) technology in the rear tire places the appropriate rubber compounds in the center and shoulder areas of the tire. The center compound provides good stability and mileage, while the shoulder compound offers grip and bump absorption for cornering. Even the tread pattern design enhances wear, contact feel and linear handling.

An insurance industry group has opened a debate on whether lawmakes should make anti-lock brakes mandatory for new motorcycles.

The 2011 Triumph Sprint GT (for Grand Tourer) comes five years after the introduction of the Sprint ST. The Sprint GT uses an updated version of Triumphs 1050cc three-cylinder engine while a new side-mounted exhaust replaces the Sprint STs underseat pipe. According to Triumph, the Sprint GT gets more power (128 hp versus 123 hp) and torque (79.7 ft-lb. @ 6,300 rpm vs 76.0 ft-lb. @ 7,500 rpm) than the Sprint ST.

Starting at the May 29-31 round at Utahs Miller Motorsports Park, the new minimum weight for 1200cc Twins such as the Ducati 1198R will be reduced to 165 kg (363.8 lb.) from 168 kg (370.4 lb.).

In his usual quiet, yet effective way, Team M4 Monster Energy Suzuki rider Martin Cardenas once again took a well-judged and hard-fought victory here today in the first of two AMA Pro Daytona SportBike presented by AMSOIL motorcycle races at Infineon Raceway.

The 350SX-F is the star of KTM s 2011 lineup. Developed by ten-time Motocross World Champion Stefan Everts, the 350SX-F has already made a splash in the FIM World MX1 Championship, with factory rider Tony Cairoli riding the bike to two Grand Prix wins and first overall in the standings.

MotoGP riders Nicky Hayden and Casey Stoner will join WSBK racers Noriyuki Haga, Michel Fabrizio, test rider Franco Battaini, Vittoriano Guareschi and Troy Bayliss will drag race Ducati Streetfighters at Italys Misano Circuit on June 12. Other satellite Ducati racers are expected to take part.

Suzuki GSX-R600 rider Elena Miles won AMA Supersport Race One at Infineon, making her the first female to record an AMA Pro Road Racing win.

The one-off Dirico Pro-Street motorcycle prize is the official custom motorcycle of the 2010 Sturgis Rally. The bike was custom designed to commemorate 70th anniversary of the Sturgis Rally.

Paolo Berlusconi, brother of Italys prime minister and owner of Garelli, submitted a bid worth 2.9 million euro in April for the struggling Moto Morini. Berlusconis offer included a three-year plan with provisions for keeping 20 Moto Morini employees and severance pay for the other 37 workers. Berlusconis plan would have also moved production of a Garelli scooter to the Moto Morini factory.

According to BMW Motorrad, a potential fault in the front brake pipe may cause a brake fluid leak. The recall affects an estimated 122,000 K1200GT, R1200R, R1200RT, R1200ST and R1200GS and R1200GS Adventure models manufactured between August 2006 and May 2009.

Aragon will host the WSBK Championship in the 2011, 2012 and 2013 seasons. The newly built circuit, located near Alcaniz, Spain, is also the official reserve circuit for the MotoGP Championship, and has already been pressed into service to host a MotoGP round Sept. 19, as a replacement for Hungarys Balatonring circuit.

The J.D. Power and Associates 2010 U.S. Motorcycle Helmet Satisfaction Study received information from 4,800 customers who bought 2009 model year motorcycles about their most recent helmet experiences. Helmets were rated based on three key factors: face shield, ventilation, and style. Each factor is broken down into 11 different attributes, such as weight and face shield scratch resistance. Customer responses were compiled to form an overall score on a 1,000-point scale.

Last years Italian Legendary Tour saw the three motorcycle racing legends ride with 40 contest winners through the Dolomites in the Italian Alps.

The 2011 Kawasaki KX250F uses a new Separate Function Fork system from Showa that splits spring and damping functions between each leg. According to Kawasaki, the Separate Function Fork reduces friction by 25%, lowers weight and is easier to adjust than conventional forks.

Already receiving a substantial overhaul in 2009 and several engine updates for 2010, Kawasaki has added a number of minor updates to the KX450F for 2011.

The Greatest Road app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch already offers a built-in map showing nearly 2,000 motorcycle routes contributed and rated by other bikers.

The event will see the FIM Motocross World Championship compete on American soil for the first time since 1999. AMA riders such as Jagermeister KTM s Mike Alessi, Troy Lee Designs Honda s Ben Townley and Motoconcepts Yamaha s Kyle Chishom will also compete against the international racers.

Payton, the owner of Pro Circuit Racing, has won 26 AMA Pro Motocross and Supercross titles since 1991, more than any other team.

Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC gamers can download the demo and play the official WSBK video game. With the demo, players can race on Portugals Portimao circuit as Max Biaggi on the Aprilia RSV4 or Cal Crutchlow on the Yamaha R6. The demo will also allow up to 16 players to race against each other online.

Suter, which produces the MMX chassis used on 13 out of approximately 40 motorcycles that make up the Moto2 grid, plans to enter the new prototype in the 2012 MotoGP Championship when engine capacity rules move up to 1000cc. Suter chief Eskil Suter says the prototype should be ready to test this summer.

The Aprilia Alitalia rider earned his third double of the campaign as the season to move 15 points ahead of Suzuki Alstares Leon Haslam as the season reaches its half-way point at Miller Motorsports Park.

According to a report by MCN, discussions are underway for the new class, to be called Moto3, to debut in 2012. The change is expected to come just as the premiere MotoGP class increases engine capacity from 800cc to 1000cc. Moto3 is expected to replace the 125cc motorcycles with 250cc single cylinder bikes and join MotoGP and Moto2 on the Grand Prix tour.

Like the XR1200 upon which it is based, the 2011 Harley-Davidson XR1200X was previously released in other markets as a 2010 model. The XR1200X was even being included in the Motor Companys debut product lineup in India in January.

The reigning MotoGP Champion, Rossi fractured his right shin bone after a highside crash June 5 during practice before the Italian Grand Prix. The crash occurred at turn 13 ahead of a chicane. According to MotoGP.com, the tire temperature for Rossis Fiat Yamaha M1 was cited as a likely factor behind the crash.

Josh Hayes' recent winning trend in AMA Pro National Guard American SuperBike competition continued Saturday at the Suzuki SuperBike Doubleheader at Road America with a gripping photo-finish victory in the first race, marking his third win in as many races and propelling him to first in the championship standings.

Josh Herrin won a hard-fought, wild and wet AMA Pro Daytona SportBike presented by AMSOIL final in race one of the Suzuki SuperBike Doubleheader weekend at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis., beating Steve Rapp by a margin of just .008 seconds.

Eslick, the defending AMA Daytona Sportbike Champion, won the new Harley-Davidson XR1200 racing series first race for the Richie Morris Racing/Bruce Rossmeyer Daytona Racing team. Eslick out-dueled teammate Jake Holden to win a red flag-delayed race.

Racing for Lightning Motorcycles, Barnes won the five-lap race, averaging 80.402 mph on the 4.05 mile circuit. The Lightning bike, based on a Ducati 1098, may have suffered from a lack of corner clearance in the first race at Infineon Raceway but Road Americas long stretches of straight played more to its strengths than the Sonoma, Calif., circuits curvy layout.

The New York native joined the BE1-operated Triumph factory team to ride the Daytona 675 alongside fellow former AMA racer Chaz Davies. After just seven out of 13 rounds, however, DiSalvo and the team agreed to go their separate ways.
