By Motorcycle.Com Staff, May. 07, 2010
AMA road racer and former MO writer Shawn Higbee will ride for Zero Agni in the TTXGP North American Championship.

Zero Agni, a joint effort between Zero Motorcycles and 2009 Isle of Man TTXGP winning Agni Motors, is one of 12 teams competing in the TTXGPs inaugural North American Championship. While Zero Agni was announced as one of the competing teams earlier in the week, it was not listed among the others on TTXGPs website until today, with Higbee listed as the teams rider. Zero Motorcycles public relations agency has confirmed with Motorcycle.com that Higbee will race for Zero Agni.

Professional AMA racer and former MO contributor Shawn Higbee will race for Zero Agni in the TTXGP North American Championship.

Higbee is an accomplished AMA racer and a one-time MO contributor. In 2009, Higbee finished fifth in the Daytona 200 riding a Buell 1125R and in 2003 Higbee was the top privateer in the AMA Superbike class. Racing with Steve Crevier for the Bruce Rossmeyer Daytona Racing team, Higbee won the MOTO-ST Road America 500K in June 2008 to earn the first major North American race win for the Buell 1125R.

This year, Higbee is finished eighth in the Daytona 200 on a Buell 1125R and scored a pair of 11th place finishes at the Auto Club Speedway round in Fontana riding a Yamaha R6. HIgbee has also been racing in the American Superbike class on a Ducati 1098R.

As for the motorcycle, Zero Agni is expected to enter a machine that uses Zeros Z-Force battery and Agnis race-winning motor.
