EICMA 2014: Milan Motorcycle Show

The motorcycle show season continues in Milan, Italy, for EICMA, the World Motorcycle Expo. Last year’s show was fantastic, but the 2014 edition promises to be even more spectacular as EICMA celebrates its 100th anniversary.

Intermot was great, and AIMExpo was impressive in just its second year, but for motorcycle enthusiasts, EICMA is like Christmas, New Years and your birthday all rolled into one.

Ducati always saves its biggest announcements for its home show, but Italian rivals MV Agusta and the Piaggio Group (Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Vespa) will have a strong presence as well. Not to be outdone, the Big Four Japanese manufacturers, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha, have also reserved some of their most exciting new models for the EICMA stage. BMW has promised a couple of world premieres, while KTM and Triumph surely have a couple of surprises in store as well.

Motorcycle.com will bring you all of the latest EICMA news starting Nov. 3, with our full team providing coverage, including same-day updates and videos from Italy via Editor-in-Chief Kevin Duke. Keep checking this space throughout the week for more 2015 model releases as they happen!

So, I have to say that I am a little disappointed with the limited changes to the Concours 14. The minor imrpovements that were made wilI certainly improve it somewhat, but it still lacks some technical goodies offered by Yamaha and BMW. I own a 2009 ABS model and love it. However, if Kawasaki had given it cruise control, electronic suspension and although the current motor has plenty of stomp (flashing the ECU does wonders for the low end) a version of the new 1441cc ZX14R motor would make it a class dominator. Just saying...

Are there any more big announcements / reveals expected? Suzuki all done at the previous show?

We were hoping Suzuki would have saved something for EICMA, but it doesn't look like there's anything that wasn't already at previous shows.

There are a few more things to come (we just posted about the new KTM 350SX-F that will race the MXGP world championship; it'll be the basis for the 2016 model) plus some more videos.
