Aprilia motorcycles include the RSV4 Factory sportbike, Tuono 1000R and Shiver 750 streetbikes and Dorsoduro supermotard. Aprilia’s scooter lineup includes the Sportcity 250 and Scarabeo 500ie. Aprilia’s off-road motorcycles include the MXV 4.5 motocross bike and the RXV 4.5 enduro motorcycle.

Aprilia, owned by the Piaggio Group, is one of the world’s largest producers of motorcycles and scooters. Outside of the major Japanese manufacturers, Aprilia offers the most complete range of two-wheeled vehicles anywhere. It all started with a gold and blue 50cc “motobike” completed in 1968. Aprilia has a successful history of racing, most notably after it produced the first RS250 in 1994. Max Biaggi won four straight world championships on Aprilia’s 250 from 1994 through 1997. Beyond road racing Aprilia also built motorcycles for trials competitions (TRX312M, Climber) and long-distance rallies (Tuareg). Today Aprilia motorcycles can be found on racetracks the world over, on-road and off.

2011 Aprilia RS4 125 Review

2011 Aprilia RS4 125 Review

The all-new Aprilia RS4 is Aprilia’s first step away from the 2-strokes that made them famous. The RS125 2-stroke will still be sold (in Europe), but the emergence of this new 4-stroke 125 shows Aprilia’s direction for the future.

2011 Aprilia Dorosduro 1200 Review [Video]

Even though we know better than to ride like morons (usually), certain machines are still able to entice us into riding for the pure joy of being silly. Aprilia’s new supermoto-inspired Dorsoduro 1200 is just such a motorcycle.
2011 Aprilia Tuono V4R APRC Review

2011 Aprilia Tuono V4R APRC Review

The 2011 Aprilia Tuono V4R APRC is possibly the most extreme streetfighter-type streetbike ever made. The V4 engine with its 167 horsepower is one of the best in the business, and its handling is exemplary. Oh, yes, the Tuono V4 R is that good.

2012 Yamaha YZF-R1 vs. 2011 Aprilia RSV4 R APRC [Video]

2012 Yamaha YZF-R1 vs. 2011 Aprilia RSV4 R APRC [Video]

Some manufacturers have shifted their focus from generating more horsepower to making sure the power reaches the ground more effectively. Two sportbikes that exemplify that mindset are the Yamaha YZF-R1 and Aprilia RSV4 R APRC.
  • 2008 Aprilia Scarabeo 200 Review Simple, practical and beautiful, the Scarabeo is one of Aprilia’s most successful scooter lines.
  • 2008 Aprilia SL750 Shiver Review What you see here might be the perfect antidote to the 600cc sportbike. Riding the Shiver is an opportunity to be sporty and stylish but without the cramped knees and sore wrists of a supersport machine.
  • 2008 Aprilia SXV 5.5 Review If you're considering an SXV, you won't be much concerned with practicality. Nor should you. This is one of the most grin-inducing scoots available at any price, giving it a stratospheric score in the desirability index.
  • 2009 Aprilia Mana Review The Aprilia Mana 850 is something of a revolutionary motorcycle, and like all revolutions, there is, or will be, those for and those against the cause. What’s the big deal? The Mana 850 is a fully automatic transmission motorcycle.

2011 Naked Middleweights Shootout

The list of unfaired motorcycles available in the United States is expanding. We decided to see which one was best by having Yamaha’s FZ8, BMW’s F800R, Aprilia’s Shiver 750 and Triumph’s Street Triple R duke it out in our 2011 Naked Middleweight Shootout.

2011 Aprilia Shiver vs. 2011 Ducati Monster 796 Shootout

We didn’t ride Ducati’s new Monster 796 and Aprilia’s updated Shiver 750 on the same day, but our time on each was so close together, and their performance so similar, we came up with a quicky 2011 Italian Roadster comparison anyway.
2010 Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 vs. Ducati Hypermotard 796

2010 Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 vs. Ducati Hypermotard 796

Supermoto began with converted motocross bikes. Recently, however, manufacturers have issued supermoto hybrids of sorts: streetbikes with a gritty supermotard attitude. Aprilia's Dorsoduro 750 and Ducati's Hypermotard 796 are two such examples.
