Although the event is only weeks away, the 2023 Get On ADV Fest Mojave Desert still has some tickets available. With an unusually wet winter in the desert, the riding and scenery should be at its peak. PIERER Mobility has opened its new North American corporate headquarters in Murrieta, Calif.. The facility will be home to KTM North America, and will be the brand’s hub on the continent for KTM, Husqvarna, and GASGAS, as well as MV Agusta, of which PIERER Mobility gained a 25.1% stake in 2022.

The Toronto Motorcycle Show is back, after a three-year absence due to COVID. The show will give visitors their first live look at some of the newest models from manufacturers including Aprilia, Can-Am, Harley-Davidson, Honda, KTM, Moto Guzzi, Piaggio, Royal Enfield, Suzuki, Triumph, Vespa, and Yamaha.
Our favorite affordable adventure bike is even more down for 2023, with tougher wire-spoke wheels, swell new bodywork and graphics, and improved everything to make the most out of one of the greatest single-cylinder motors of all time. The 2022 model sold for $6,799; let’s hope the ’23 isn’t much more.
Dang, the non-profit motorcycle museum founded by the owners of J&P Cycles in 1989 says it’ll be closing its Anamosa, Iowa, doors in September. Sad, but maybe there’ll be happy endings for some as the museum auctions off display bikes that won’t be returned to their owners. Details to come…
Voom, an innovative motorcycle insurance provider that allows you to pay by the mile, has expanded its current coverage map to include three new states: Texas, Missouri, and Tennessee. Ron Smith and friend Brenda Volpe were reportedly on their way to the funeral of another friend when Smith had to brake suddenly and crashed August 20th near Holiday, FL; both suffered fatal injuries. The Tampa Bay Times reports, “It’s impossible to say whether a helmet would have prevented Smith’s and Volpe’s deaths, experts said. Smith’s autopsy report lists blunt head trauma as his cause of death and an initial report from the Hillsborough Medical Examiner’s Office also lists Volpe’s cause of death as head trauma.”
