Set-up and Doc Fees?

What's the deal with set-up and doc fees on new motorcycle purchases? It seems like a scam to charge you more money for the bike. Are these fees legit?
Get Motorcycle.com in your InboxYes, those fees are universal "delivery" charges and a way to get more money out of you and not list the MSRP higher. There's not much you can do about it other than negotiate an overall lower price. As for being legitimate, in general, sellers can charge whatever they want as long as competitors aren't colluding to "fix" a price unnaturally high or low.
