It's time to honor the cream of the 2018 motorcycling crop
Well, it’s that time, again. As the motorcycle industry heads with its collective throttle pinned into the 2019 model year, we here at Motorcycle.com have taken a moment to look back at the previous year. What a year it has been! In case you don’t remember, it began with an amazing 38 bikes announced during EICMA 2017. Since it is our goal to review each and every motorcycle we can throw our legs over, our butt dynos are well calibrated and our typing fingers limber from all the bike tests and shootouts we cranked out for the 2018 model year.
Throughout the year we’ve seen some major developments in the touring and bagger categories. The adventure class also received some new-model love. In fact, when we sat down to decide on each of the ten categories covered by awards this year, we had some of the most spirited debates we can remember. The options were that strong. In the end though, we’ve made selections that we think are the best that motorcycling had to offer in 2018.
We’ll begin the MOBOs with our choice for Best Electric Motorcycle on Friday and follow on Monday with the Best Lightweight/Entry Level Motorcycle. Every weekday thereafter, we’ll unveil a new winner plus the runner-up. The celebration will come to a conclusion on October 11th with the announcement of the 2018 Motorcycle of the Year.
We’re sure that you’ll agree with many of our choices and possibly be ardently opposed to others. That’s the nature of motorcycling. Passions run high. We hope you’ve enjoyed the 2018 model year as much as we have. So, join us on a quick ride down the winding road that was motorcycling in 2018.

Again no scooters. That sucks!
So is it me or does it appear more than as "Best New Bikes of 2018".
I feel that some earlier models from 2016-2017 still are better bikes. For example, the KTM 1290 Super Duke GT for Sport tourer. I know every now and then an older bike pops in but I find it hard to believe that most new models are better.
