Would You Watch a MotoGP Version of Formula 1: Drive to Survive?

The big motorsports news today is the acquisition of MotoGP by Formula One’s rightsholder, Liberty Media. We’ve taken a look at the deal here, but one part of the news draws our attention for today’s Question of the Day.

As part of its plans for growing MotoGP, Liberty Media expressed plans to “amplify marketing support and storytelling capabilities” (with emphasis added by Liberty Media). Naturally, “storytelling capabilities” leads us to wonder if Liberty Media is planning on producing a MotoGP version of the successful Formula 1: Drive to Survive series on Netflix.

The series, which just streamed its sixth season, has helped F1 racing grow its popularity, particularly in the U.S. market. Liberty Media also expressed plans to expand in the U.S., so putting two-and-two together, it seems like we might see a similar series revolving around MotoGP (Ride to Survive?) at some point.

So, for our Question of the Day, we ask: should they make a docuseries about MotoGP similar to Formula 1: Drive to Survive, and if they do, would you watch it?

I watched MotoGP Unlimited and while it was OK, it was not as good as MotoAmerica's "Pressure to Rise" (PTR). If Liberty put out something like PTR that focused on rider strategy, bike set-up, and pit lane action rather than leaning heavily on rider personalities and drama, I would watch it.

Too many instances of overtaking at the extreme.

Not so much in the case of F1.

So preparing content for Drive to survive F1 is easier, not so much in MotoGP :D
