Purchased in April 2010

Just two weeks ago, I purchased a 2010 V-Star 950 Tourer. It was an upgrade from a Honda Shadow Spirit 750. The Shadow was a lot more fun to ride, however, was not suitable for long rides. I compare the Shadow to a Corolla and the Tourer to a Camry.



A few points I would like to make regarding ...the bike after my first 300 mies.

1-I am 5'2", so I need to sit toward the front of the seat in order to manage the controls.

2-The seat is a bit hard, my behind hurt after about 75 miles of back roads in NE.

3-This bike runs HOT-This is the first week in May, ohh I can just imagine how it will feel to ride in July.

4-The floorboards will scrape, but only if you take the corners as you would in a smaller bike. It took me a short time to adjust to the turning radius in order to avoid scraping the floorboards.

5-When dipping in the road, it rattles as if the parts were all made of plastic.

6-Not very quick out of the gate, gotta ease into your speed.

7-The look-Fabulous! It causes a lot of rubbernecking.

8-Oh-this bike is quieter than my sewing machine. The dealer wouldn't let me hear it prior to paying for it...oh well, gotta upgrade.

Best buck's BANG

Purchased my 950 one year ago and have never road a smoother machine. Being a "boomer" and of short stature(5'10") I couldn't find a cycle that fit me better. As much power as needed in every situation I've been in, plenty of room in those eye catching bags with a shield that still al...lows you to feel the wind. I still own my '81 850 special and to compare them it is like going from an old farm truck to riding in a Town Car. Read Full Review

Nice Bike, so far.

Just bought the V-Star 950, had to upgrade for two-up riding. Went up from '81 Maxim 650, so it's a big difference. Now only have 200 miles on her, but so far she has been totally awesome compared to the little Maxim.



1- Seat a little hard but good and wide.

2- Gentle off the line but good picku...p.
3- nice sound, not to soft and not to loud.

Not a bad bike

Just purchased in august.
It has plenty of power, smooth ride, but when cornering the foot rests drag. you have to be careful in tight turns. overall a very nice bike. Read Full Review
