Truely an Under Appreciated Gem!

This spring I bought two new 09's S40s for me and my Fiancee. I've riding for 30 years and have a garage full of other bike, but this bike is a joy to ride. It's light weight, nimble, with plenty of power. I'm a short guy so the pegs fit me well. My only complaints are that I'm used to a wider bi...ke, so getting use to a narrow bike it with narrow pegs is different. The other downside is the lack of accessories out there for this bike. Suzuki S40

Writing from New Zealand. I brought this bike in Sept 2010 after three years on a Chinese Suzuki GN250 which was a little too small for our motorways. I've done 3800miles since mainly commuting but some open road work. I like the low down torque and the fact that you can go alot of places in 5th if... you want. Seems to handle hilly twisty roads ok. A bit thirsty bit I don'mind can opnly compare it to the 250.Probably would go 120miles on maintank and maybe 150 with reserve. Have seen about 90 indicated but the speedo may be optimistic. Brake pads had to be replaced at about 3700miles. Ok a Kawasaki Vulcan 500 might eat it but they are dearer and dearer to service. this is my first bike and its awesome... ive had it now for two months...my brakes were a little sqeaky but that didnt take but a tweak here and there, its very light and durable. its my means of transportation. the only thing i would change if i could is adding a fuel valve indicator..
