First bike at 61
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 08, 2013I rode my first motorcycle when I was 18 and have wanted one since then. Unfortunately marriage to a wife who didn't like bikes and raising 3 children kept me from buying one. "Priorities" rule. So it wasn't till I hit 61 that I bought my first Harley. After looking at a lot of different bikes, once ... in the Harley showroom there were no other bikes. Bought a Sportster 1200, Not long distance comfort. Traded it in 4 months later and got my 2010 Streetglide, (sexy bike). Now my friends and I will ride up to 300 miles a day just to have lunch somewhere different. It was a bike the dealer had upgraded, V&H 2 into 2, Rinehart mufflers, Big breather kit, and Harleys race tuner. From driving around town to Tail of the Dragon, I couldn't be happier. Well maybe, I would like a little more hp maybe up around 128. Racing to the end lol.

Best Bike Ever!
By (I am an Owner) on Nov 23, 2011I have owned a couple of bikes in my life. Everything from crotch-rockets to Harleys and this is by far the best all-around bike I have ever owned. It handles like a dream, and comfortable enough for me to pull 10 hr. plus days of riding. I added a V&H 2 into 1 slip-on Paul Yaffe Monkey Bagger Bars ... 12inch (the most comfortable bars I have ever used) a V&H fuelpak and a K&N High Flow air filter. Some people bitch about not enough power...idiots. This bike has plenty for its intended use and some. Keep building them like this and I will keep buying and recommending them.

Glad to Glide
By (I am an Owner) on Jun 11, 2011I traded off a great 08 Heritage Softail for a 2010 FLHX...and am I ever glad I did. I can ride all day and not feel like I have been working! The brakes are fantastic (abs too), replaced stock seat with a sundowner and a 10" wind splitter windshield. Oddly enough, there was more room for wifey ... and me on the Heritage, but the HX is lots more stable 2 up. Had to downshift going uphill on the Heritage in 6th gear, but can accelerate in 6th with the HX. Moved from South Dakota to South Alabama last year. Enjoying riding year round and only have to spend a few days a month in my cage. Long legs with the 6 gallon tank. Handling better than Heritage too. All in all, really loving the ride.

First Harley
By (I am an Owner) on Jan 27, 2011I have been riding motorcycles for over 30 years and this is my first Harley. My last Bike a 2003 Kawasaki Mean Streak was totaled in an accident in 2007. 3 years later I found myself in a position to purchase a new bike and came across the Street Glide. I was love at first sight. The power band ... on this engine is wonderful even cruising in 6th gear I can roll on the throttle and it will pull away. The bike loves corners and loves to lean. My Kaw could out run this bike from a standing start and you could throw it into a corner at a higher speed, but it cannot compare to the all around comfort and handling of the Street Glide. I commute to work and the cruise control is a dream along with the tall 6th gear which drops the rpm's and make for a relaxing cruise to and from work about 50 miles each way. With the rubber mounted engine the bike is smooth, none of the engine vibration is passed onto the ride. My wife and I have no problem putting on 200 to 300 miles in a day. If you looking for a bike that is sporty, handles great and will put a smile on our face then look no futher. Harley has built this bike and called it the Street Glide.

Minnesota EXCITED!!!
By (I am an Owner) on Jan 17, 2011Well first off I'm not as lucky as the other reviewers by having the luck of getting to drive their new bike. I just bought this 2010 Street Glide w/91 miles on it at a U.S. Marshalls Auction on December 4th.
I went hoping nobody would come interested in the forfeiture.(being bfore Xmas an ... all) I set my price at $15,500 but ended up getting it for $15,900.
I think what a steal! Its my fav color.. Black, has cruise control, ABS brakes.
Well its been snowing since I came home with the bike. I've started it and I've sat on it... but thats it. I can expect to get my first ride sometime in April. Check back.. cuz I love what I've read and it sucks that I dont live in Arizona. Maybe next winter if I can find a bartending job there.

Second home run,HD has real winner
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 05, 2010June 25th a honda crv ran a red light and totaled my 2010 street glide. HD totaled the Honda in revenge, heavy touring bikes are good! Now I have 3K miles on my second 2010 street glide. Since getting the street glide I have only put a couple of miles on my other 2003 Ultra Glide. I Love This ... Bike!!

Love my '10 Street Glide
By (I am an Owner) on Aug 18, 2010I really enjoy riding my '10 Street Glide that I got when I traded in my '09 DYNA. The DYNA was like riding a Oldsmobile Cutlass where the Street Glide was like driving a Cadillac. I've owned all 4 so I should know. The only complaint I had with the Street Glide was getting it in neutral at red ... lights. It was like trying to balance an egg. The arthritis in my hands prevents me from pulling in the clutch for excessive lengths of time. Then I had the 1000 mile service performed and opted to use synthetic oil and the shifting into neutral problem went away. The day before my 8" windshield arrived I was stung by a bee on the neck, the short stock windshield is basically useless. Even now I wish I had gotten a 10" (I'm 5' 11" by the way). One of my other basic improvements was the installation of 1.25" floorboard extensions, I'm a rather wide person and it was a great improvement on my knees. I can definitely tell that the longer 400 mile trips are going to be a lot more enjoyable now.

What a Fun Ride!
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 29, 2010I have owned 2 Heritage Softail Classics and decided it was time for something a little different. I have really enjoyed my Harley experience but felt the extra weight of the Street Glide would compromise power. I really wanted to have the ABS Brakes and thought Cruise Control and the electronics ... would be fun. I had our local dealer do a "Stage I" upgrade before delivery. WOW! I had no idea the response this bike delivered. PLENTY of power and it handles curves like a Bullet Train. It gets real light the minute it starts moving and is very easy to handle. My 112 lb wife rode it and I was afraid she was going to keep it and give me her Crossbones. I added a Reach Seat, Running Lights, Back Rest for Rider and Passenger and a luggage rack. It still looks Edgy and delivers much more performance than I expected. I highly recommend this bike for someone leaving the ranks of the Dyna and Softail family that doesn't want a 900 pound motorcyle to move around.

HD Head Turner
By (I am an Owner) on Jun 12, 2010I have been riding since I was seven and finally decided to bite the bullet and purchase what I've always wanted...a Harley! I did my homework and waited for improvements to be made to the Street Glide chassis. I must say that HD hit a homerun with this one. The lines are beautiful and are complimented ... everytime I ride! It handles like a dream and rides like a Cadillac. If you want to ride 140 mph you probably dont need to be on a motorcycle anyway! The torque curve is great and you can get the front wheel off the payment from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. That's good enough for me!

Best Bike Yet
By (I am an Owner) on Jan 02, 2010this is my 4th motorcycle and 2nd HD, I think this is an almost perfect motorycle. For a large bike this motorcycle handles like a dream, leaning easily in the curves and slides right through them. About the only thing I would complain about this and other HD bikes is I wish HD would put the full ... chrome on the front forks and there is buffeting with the stock windshield which is easily fixed with a slightly taller one.

Doggy harleys
By (I am an Owner) on Nov 28, 2009why cant hd co. put some HP in their stock bikes? they seem to be so ashamed of hp they do have they wont even list it in their specs.I think its a shame you spend $20,000 on a bike then you have to spend 4000 more on it just so it will get out of its own way.this includes the screaming eagles, what ... a joke. But I guess the jokes on me, ive owned two of the doggy pieces of crap. And I love the one Ihave now.So wake up HD one of these days us faithful idiots might just trade em in for a Victory.I hear their half american made too!!!
