No regrets purchase - LOVE my 2010 Ultra Classic
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 02, 2014My wife and I bought this bike in Sept 2010. We have since put on nearly 17,000 miles.
This is by far the best bike I've ever owned, it's been rock-solid reliable, absolutely no issues whatsoever.
I've been riding since I was 14 (so around 39 years) and have owned several motorcycles ... including Honda, Kawasaki and BMW as well as some older Harley's and none have been as enjoyable to ride and own as this Ultra Classic.
Since the warranty expired, I do most of my own maintenance and have found the bike easy to work on. In terms of upgrades, I own several windscreens and installed a high flow air filter, various chrome items, but generally the bike is pretty much stock.
Some comments on the 2010:
- the engine does crank out quite a bit of heat on hot days in stop & go traffic.
- the passenger accommodations are not roomy and the lower portion of the backrest is not supportive.
- the reason I own several windscreens is because top of the stock unit is right at my eye height - I prefer looking over the windshield so I normally have an 8" screen but there's considerably more wind and some buffeting for the passenger, I also have a 12" screen that I install (very easy) when going on road trips as it reduces buffeting.
I'm hoping to upgrade to a 2015 Ultra when they come out later this year.

An update from my May 2010 reveiw.
By (I am an Owner) on Dec 01, 2010I think I was at just under 5000km when I wrote in last time. I now have 13,600km on the bike, and I like it even more now than then. Not sure if its in the programing of ECM, but as it rolled over 10,000km I noticed a definate change in power, and exhaust tone. It was as if someone took an elastic ... band off the back, and unleashed a beast. (this was while I was riding) The wife and I did two 5 day trips this last summer, and with all our gear I never had a lack of power issue. Not one hill between Prince George, and Vancouver slowed me down below 125km/hr. If I needed to pass, I droped one or two gears, and did what I had to do. Our last trip, we averaged 56MPG, and thats fully loaded. I thought we may have acheived the "Iron Butt" patch, but found out its 1000 miles, not 1000kms in one day. Never the less, we both sat for just over 1100kms in one day, and I easily could have kept going. I put a driver back rest on at time of purchase, and recomend the same to anyone looking to do some long days. The bike has been great, not a single issue, and we are very pleased with the fact we purchased the "Ultra". I recomend the ultra to anyone looking for a big cruiser, and my wife recomends the back seat to anyone looking to go for a ride. Hope this helps those who are thinking.

Geezer Glide
By (I am an Owner) on Nov 12, 2010This is my 3rd Harley, purchased a new 2010 flhtcu (with/abs)May 25th, for 20k, had 5 miles on it when I bought it, as of this review I've put over 9k on it. Bike rides and handles great, as a touring bike I think there is no equal.I ride almost daily, unless it is snowing. The new dunlop tires wear ... great, 9k on them and i think i'll get at least another 7 to 9 k out of them. The lean you can get out of this big bike is awesome, it handles great. Took our vacation on this bike, lots of storage, its lime a limo on 2 wheels. Added vance & hines slip ons, stock pipes suck. Only draw back is the heat, this bike runs hot, added an oil cooler, the bike should come stock with one, suggest you add one to extend engine life.
