TTXGP: 2010 Mosport results
Barnes handily won the July 11 race by over a minute before 20,000 fans at Mosport International Raceway near Toronto, Canada. Barnes won the second round of the TTXGPs North American series in Road America and could have been a perfect three-for-three if he didnt have to restart his bike in the season opener at Infineon Raceway.
Second place went to Team Norton Electras Thad Wolff who finished 1:13.011 behind Barnes on the modified 1966 Norton Atlas. Team Werkstatt rider Jennifer Bromme finished third for the Mavizen TTX02s first podium result. Michael Hannas of Electric Race Bikes was classified fourth while Square Wave Racings Steven Belknap was last in the five-bike grid.
The grid may have been more competitive if logistical issues hadnt prevented Team Agni from racing. Zoe Rem finished second for Agni at Road America and actually posted a faster top speed than Barnes in that race.
Despite the lack of strong competition, Barnes results were impressive. His best lap time of 1:35.278 was better than the last place finisher, Matthew Leahey on a Honda CBR600RR, in the Canadian Superbike Championships Pro Sportbike race held later in the day on the same track. Barnes time was also just 12 seconds off the top time set by the race winner, Jordan Szoke, a six-time Canadian racing champion who also rode a Honda CBR600RR.
