I had 2001 Valkery trade for 2009 Fat boy . Outstanding the balance og the bike is remarkable very easy to ride feels light for a 700 pounds bike. for the haters

I`ve read a few reviews stating this bike lacks in the higher gears....WRONG ANSWER! This bike has a 6 speed tranny and the 6th gear is high for cruisin the interstaes. The speed obtained at 1/4 throttle in 4th and then 5th gear will rocket you to a much faster speed than anyone needs to be going... regardless of the 6th gear. In fact, there`s no telling what top end speed this bike is capable of. I ride with friends riding a suzuki 1500, honda shadow, a Harley Wide Glide, a super glide, a yamaha 1300 and several more bikes and their bikes can in no way manage a cruising speed at the low rpms that I can get out of my Fatboy. And when they try to sneak by me I drop her down to 5th, cruise right on by them and then ease her back into 6th as I watch them get smaller and smaller in my mirrors. And this is done at less than half throttle. I will never know what she will top out at in 6th gear because honestly, I`m afraid I might leap forward in time!! Read Full Review

Fatboy with SE Stage II

Tested the Fatboy against the Fatbob, Crossbones and Rocker C last week at my dealer in Cheltenham UK. The Fatboy was fitted with the SE stage II 103" kit and a V&H Pro pipe. The acceleration was awesome, the sound pure. I am ordering this bike very soon. Against the others there was really... no comparison. Harley_Davidson Fat Boy

I rented this bike in Las Vegas and was amazed at how comfortable this bike is to ride long distances on! The Fat Boy had plenty of power in the first 4 gears, in the higher gears it was lacking even at highway speeds without a downshift.

Being used to a sports bike, I did not like the fact that I ...could not lean the bike over in the twisties without scraping the foot boards. Other than that I really like this bike! Although the bike is over 700 pounds, it felt very well balanced even at slow speed manouvers. If the price of this bike was 2-3 thousand lower, I would have this Fat Boy in my garage.
