  • I Love My FJR
By  (I am an Owner) on Aug 02, 2010

I live in Los Angeles, and am 6'4" and 240 lbs. I commute on this bike 2-5 days/wk. On weekends, I take the bags off and do canyon runs all day, sometimes 2-up with (albeit quicker) Ducati Hypermotard friends. Other weekends it's full dress, 2-up rides anywhere from 240-600 mi roundtrip. Bought the ...

Just got back from a second 2-up ride to Vegas with AVERAGE speeds of 105 mpg both ways. I'm happy to report I will never ride this bike at top speed, but I've gotten it to 125 mph with lots of throttle left. The bike handled beautifully with max weight load. I should mention our rear ends needed a little break about 2/3 the way back, and that was with "riding shorts" under our jeans. That's what gas stops are for right?

Many former FJR owners I've talked to moved on to BMWs, and they've admitted to missomg their FJRs. This bike serves it's "mixed use" (sport/touring) very well if this is your only bike. Hell, if you're rich, buy a Gold Wing and a Busa. Otherwise, this is definitely the bike to own!
