Great Cruiser
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 02, 2016I'm writing this review, oddly, on the occasion of selling my 2004 VS 1100 Classic after a few years ownership. It's a great bike. Comfy, great torque, handles nicely, plenty of power. I've enjoyed every minute of riding it. I'm moving "up" to a 2007 VS 1300 mostly to get fuel injection and reduce ... my maintenance load (though admittedly the 2004 yammie carbs have been dead reliable). I bought the 1100 after a 10 year hiatus from riding (due to arrival of children) and it was and is a fantastic bike for the semi-experienced rider. A bit heavy for the beginner, but overall have been 100% happy with it.
My single gripe with the bike is that the configuration means my 6'1" frame doesn't fit perfectly. Well enough, but on long (3+ hour) rides I find I'm too far forward in the seat - perched on more than sitting in the seat - If I were 2" shorter, or the seat 2" longer, I'd be 100% happy. Only issue to register...

Nice dependable machine
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 11, 2014Great bike! Have had it since it was 6 months old with 1686 miles on it. Now has 16k. Only one significant problem, starter went bad & one way clutch system chewed up. $1000.00 repair at yamaha to never happen again. otherwise the thousands i have spent on it were to add function, performance, and ... bling.

Great Bike, except
By (I am an Owner) on Aug 20, 2011Love everything about the bike except changing the oil filter. Why couldn't they have found an place to put it so you didn't have to take the bike apart to get to it? Love the looks and ride!
