Triumph to add seven models by 2012
The planned product expansion was announced at Triumph s U.S. Dealer Conference. Triumph Motorcycles North America also announced the pending sale of its 100,000th motorcycle since returning to North America 15 years ago.
Triumph has methodically grown our model range and dealer network over the past 15 years, and we have even more great things in store for customers in the coming years, says Mark Kennedy, chief executive officer of Triumph Motorcycles North America. Triumph has maintained our commitment to new product development, so customers will continue to see great new products that push the envelope in terms of styling, performance and reliability. The next few years are going to be a lot of fun, and were really looking forward to the journey.
Currently, Triumph offers 16 models spread across three families: Cruiser, Urban Sport and Modern Classic. By 2012, Triumphs lineup will grow to 23 models across seven families as the company expands into new categories.
For 2010, Triumph also announced a number of special edition models.
Thunderbird SE
The Triumph Thunderbird SE will come standard with a new Carnival Red paint scheme, ABS, a detachable touring windshield with wind deflectors, leather saddle bags, touring seat, detachable passenger back rest with luggage rack and rider and passenger floorboards. The 2010 Thunderbird SE retails for $14,999.
Thunderbird 1700
The Thunderbird will also be available with a big-bore 1,700cc engine option, an upgrade from the standard Thunderbirds 1,600cc engine. According to Triumph, the 1,700cc engine produces 99 bhp compared to the 1,600cc engines 85 bhp. The Triumph Thunderbird 1700 also comes standard with ABS and comes in a new Phantom Red Haze color. The Thunderbird 1700 will retail for $14,799.
Bonneville 60
To commemorate the 1960 Bonneville T120, Triumph is producing the limited edition Bonneville 60. Triumph will produce 600 units of the Bonneville 60, with 100 units reserved for North America. Featuring a two-tone Meriden and Caspian Blue color scheme, the Bonneville 60 comes with a numbered handlebar clamp plaque and certificate of authenticity for $8,999.
Bonneville T100 Black
Responding to customer demand, Triumph is also releasing an all-black Bonneville. The Bonneville T100 Black is equipped with spoke wheels and a tachometer. It retails for $8,599.
Speed Triple SE
The Triumph Speed Triple will also get a special edition version, featuring Tornado Red paint with a Crystal White stripe. First unveiled at the 2009 EICMA show in Milan alongside the Bonneville 60, the Speed Triple SE has a ticket price of $11,299.
Daytona 675 SE
Triumph is bringing back the special edition Daytona 675 featuring Pearl White bodywork over a Sparkle Blue chassis. The 2010 version gets new graphics and carbon fiber trim. The 2010 Triumph Daytona 675 SE has a retail price of $10,299.
