Triumph has announced that it will add electronic fuel injection to all of its 2009 parallel Twins.

All models in Triumph’s Modern Classics line, which includes the 2009 Bonneville, Bonneville T100, Scrambler and Thruxton, will feature EFI. Triumph’s America and Speedmaster cruisers will also receive the upgrade.

In keeping with the British manufacturer’s signature classic look, Triumph says the new fuel injectors will be hidden by throttle bodies designed to look like carburetors.

Although Triumph will utilize modern EFI, they intend to incorprate the technology with traditional styling.Though Triumph made the change from carburetors to electronic fuel injection to comply with European emissions standards, Triumph’s EFI-installed Twins will also be coming to North America.

Triumph says the EFI-installed bikes will exceed the Euro 3 requirements, as well as emission standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency and the California Air Resources Board.
