The Most Beautful Bike at EICMA: Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono RVE
The title of “Moto più bella”, or Most Beautiful Bike of EICMA as selected by visitors at the 2023 Milan show went to, surprise surprise, an Italian bike. In fact, an Italian motorcycle was named or Most Beautiful Bike of EICMA every year since its inception in 2005, and even the runner-ups were Italian save for that first year when the Yamaha YZF-R6 finished second in voting behind the MV Agusta Brutale 910R. And even then, it needed a special edition 50th anniversary livery to do so.
For 2023, the winner was the new Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono RVE, with second place going to the Moto Guzzi Stelvio. This marked the 12th time a Ducati has won the honor. A Moto Guzzi finished as runner-up for the second straight year, after the V100 Mandello S finished behind the Diavel V4 last year.
Is here some home country bias behind the voting in Milan? Possibly, though it's difficult to argue against some of the selections over the years, no matter your passport.
