Quiet Confidence
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 25, 2014Always owned Japanese motorcycles never had the aura to need a Harley. Last motorcycle 12 years ago 1500 cc Suz cruiser. Re entered the market between good deal 2013 C90boss, but came across the Yamaha SCL Raider line. Had great deal worked on 2013 but I am youthful 50 year old that likes less ... cleaning so all the bling chrome was a bit much saw the SCL 2014 it reeked quiet confidence, purchased it without a test ride. Still worried but I let my boss who owns one of those yuppie BMW bikes that cost like 30k, he loved it stated "dude this thing screams and handle much to my surprise flawless, the my brother who predominately rides sport bike, he stated one of the smoothest shifting engines and clutch he has ever road, high praise for a guy who has owned some of the greatest Japanese bikes ever created in his 40 plus years of riding. The bars and seat are just perfect, I'm 6 ft someone smaller will just have to sit little closer to tank. The engine stock pipes have a nice rumble of the stunning 1900 cc engine that no HD will match. The 2014 SCL was really the first blacked out matte finish model, and the took the big star logo off the tank and quietly branded it on fender with subtle under tank print for those not in the know to wonder who makes this gorgeous bike. The priced point the bike down a few grand which I think was wise. If u r going to push 20k for a bike you may opt to be part of a family of HD wannabes. While my other brother would never sit on anything but HD, he had to grunt with admiration when he saw the design, size and power this bike has to offer. The one thing Yamaha needs to do is get customization out in marketplace with reasonable costs but market, show pictures and brand this model line with an HD image and you will have something I have not seen in 40 years with a Japanese brand a loyal faithful group that can be cool riding a Japanese bike for once. Keep the 500 or less concept, mix it up a bit and continue to promote 100 percent this line over some of your others and u could have a hit series to build long longevity and product line.
