I'm A Believer in Yamaha
By (I am an Owner) on Aug 27, 2012Have owned my '09 Raider S since May '09. What a ride! I have over 15,000 miles on it and have even ridden The Tail of the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway, Blue Ridge Mtns and Natahala Gorge last summer and it didn't miss a beat. Managed the switchbacks like a dream. Most comfortable ride, well balanced ... bike I've ridden. Love it so much that I convinced my husband to purchase a '10 Raider and we now own a '11 Stryker, just in case we need to leave one in the shop. Can't be without a Yamaha to ride! If you don't ride a Yamaha you aren't riding (you are probably pushing!)

Smooth Fast Fun Nice looking bike
By (I am an Owner) on May 15, 2012I've had this bike for 9 months and love the look, the engine has a lot of acceleration, the bike is comfortable, and gets a lot of positive comments. I'm short so it could use more pull back on the bars and you have to change out the pipes to put any good size bags on it.

BadAss Beast
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 11, 2012Got this brand new bike delivered last week, and managed to get a couple of decent days in winter to take her out for a short spin around the Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania neighborhood.
I got lots of looks from motorists and pedestrians and which was a clear indication that I was riding ... a quality machine. The stock pipes have a great sound that just add to the mystique of the Raider S. The size of this bike simply states "I'm no push over" and the engine power backs this 100%.
I managed to take it out this afternoon on a very scenic route from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania through the West Virginia mountains to Deep Creek Lake, Maryland and back with a buddy on one of those high-end Harley Glides. Superb performance by the Raider S, great acceleration when passing cars and other bikes. Smooth transmission shifting and fantastic suspension that cushioned some of the bumpy patches of the Road.
What a buy, no regrets about this purchase. This bike has increased my swag. This will be a great riding summer.

Raider S - Dream Bike
By (I am an Owner) on Apr 02, 2011I have my Raider S for 15 Month close of 5000 miles of pleasure ridding.
On my way again at Eastern to Golden gate for 4 Days. This Bike is one of the most convertible Bikes I have ridden and the power is awesome. When you talk about good looks then this Bike is a beauty with a hot Body.
Power ... and handling is outstanding just every ride is a pleasure, Puts away any Harley in power and locks.

Great experience
By (I am an Owner) on Jan 14, 2011The largest bike I had ridden prior to renting a Raider was my brother in law's Custom Dyna Glide 88 cu. in. Harley. I had recently sold my V-Star 1100. I am a 53 year old male with a 29" inseam. I have been licensed since 16 to ride MC, and have had been riding since the age of 13. I sold my ... Honda 550 in 1978, and didn't ride again until 2005 when I bought the V-Star. I rode from New Castle, Delaware to the Finger Lakes Region of New York. 350 miles in the saddle. My butt didn't get sore. The bike was a pleasure, a regular torque monster. Going through heavy traffic in more than one city was no problem. It handles well and was easy to control at any speed, including a u-turn in a development after taking a wrong turn in Harrisburg. Steady cruising at 75 mph on Route 15 equated to 50 mpg. My V-Star got a steady 38 mpg. Go figure ! When I eventually get another ride the Raider will be one to consider. Looks, great MPG, powerfull and to top it off, comfortable. Not to mention, a lot less expensive for a comparable Harley. Next, I'd like to try the Triumph Thunderbird Storm. After all, the Brits are our best Allies.

SWEET RIDE!!!
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 16, 2009I have NEVER ridden a smoother bike! This one has everything a rider needs- power to get around the big rigs on the interstate, balance for a great ride in the mountains, and a profile that is a real head turner! I've had Harley riders taking a second look!

Just the best all around
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 12, 2009I've been searching for the right all around bike. I was the owner of a H-D Fat boy, tons of accessories but not a performance ride. I'm lucky to work at a motorcycle shop so i get to test lost of them. None by far has compare to my Raider. If you like performance and just raw power get your self ... a raider.

The bike has out performed HD's that friends have and I have yet to meet someone who can out run this bike. So much power yet it handles incredibley. There is a reason it is ranked #1 by almost evey magazine ... and website.

Awesome
By (I am an Enthusiast) on Aug 16, 2009First off I have to set the stage. I've been a Gold Wing fan for more than 17 yrs. My brother bought an 09 Raider S and when I visited on vacation he let me ride it. What a cool sled and I would like to add one to my stable someday. We went to his local dealer to check on one but they had a cherry ... 2004 Valkyrie Rune which I wound up buying but I still think I enjoy the Raider S more. The thrush, fit and finish and overall quality make this a very fun ride. Not sure what I would do with 3 bikes but it's very tempting to have a Wing, Rune and Raider S. Thanks Bro!

What a Rush!
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 26, 2009Ok as a 45 year old woman who has been riding all different bikes in the past 30 years, I feel like this is the best one by far! I just traded in my 07 v-star 1300 touring bike for this. I have owned it for 1 month and put on 1200 miles to date. Because the center of gravity is so low, it handles ... all riding situations with ease. I bought the red s model as it attracted my attention. I just finished a long run today with a bunch of Harley boys and I couldn't believe all the positive feedback and nice comments it got! By the way, this is the first bike I ever bought without taking a test drive first! I love it!

Red Rocket !
By (I am an Owner) on Jun 22, 2009First yamaha I've ever ridden. Boy is this Raider S a piece of work. I only have about 400 km on it but it sure makes you smile when you crack the throttle. Dealer had already installed a Dynojet Commander and Vance & Hines pipes before it even hit the showroom floor. Yamaha has really nailed it ... on this bike. Ya I'm 51 but who said money can't buy you 25 again. Raiders S welcome to the family. Awesome bike !

Warrior to Raider
By (I am an Owner) on May 15, 2009Disappointed in the performance, my Warrior is faster. Love the look and the ergos, but when I'm trolling for Harleys, I uncover the Warrior.

Just Plain Awesome
By (I am an Owner) on May 08, 2009I have almost 2000 miles my Raider S and she is one sweet ride. I put over 40,000 on a 2005 Midnight Star and traded for this cycle. I could not believe the difference in all catagories: handling, power, comfort, style, and did I mention POWER.... I had the Midnight Star tricked up with a Dyno ... 3000, and a B.A.K. and V&H Longshots so it was no slouch. The only issue I have with my Raider is the same one I had for my Midnight Star. They both have the power for a 6th gear but it can't be added. I will just have to live with 5 till someone figgers out how to add that 6th one. Ride her like ya stole her......
