A Great Bike

I bought this bike in August and have since put 2,ooo plus miles on it. It is a great around town bike. Has some zip to it. It sounds good and is very comfortable. I have not gotten the 49 mpg that Yamaha claims. I average around 39 in town and 40 fully loaded on the highway. I didn't give it full m...arks in performance to reflect this. It is a fantastic looking bike and I get a lot of complements on it. For highway touring it is a little underpowered. You can cruise at 70 mph, 80 mph seems to be about top speed. Read Full Review

nice cruiser

This is a nice bike. It looks good,rides nice. I added extended floor boards out of Canada because the flat ones from the factory made long rides uncomforatable. The new floorboards look better and make a 100% better ride. The gear ratio's are made for town driving. They are close and the top speed ...is around 70 and it sounds like its going to blow up. If you want a cruiser that is distance road worthy you need to go to the 1300cc silverado. The gear ratio's on this bike is perfect. If Yamaha put a wider gear ratio and top end gear on its 650cc it would be perfect. Just a note for new buyers the 1100cc suffers from the same close ratio transmission problem. You only have the good road gears on the 1300cc bike. Are you listening Yamaha? Everyone I know who has a 650 or 1100 is always trying to shift to 5th a couple of times because the engines screaming and they think they missed 5th. But they find that's 5th and there isn't anymore top end. Yamaha if you make the transmission change you have the perfect bike. Read Full Review

good for girls

I love my bike I have Lupus and I can't ride far but it's wonderful. however I went out one day to start it and it starts with the choke but you push choke in it dies, when you try to roll back and give it gas, it dies I don't know whats up it was fine couple weeks ago after a ride parked in my gara...ge. checked fuses, filled full with gas,checked fuel switch is on. It only has 600 miles. any suggestions please let me know. Read Full Review
