Great little bike

I bought this bike in november of 08' after looking for a suitable beginner bike and haven't looked back. What really inspired me to buy this bike was kawasaki's all new bodywork for the 2008 and 09 versions and the price! It looks more like a big bike than a 250 unlike the earlier versions that are... so outdated looking. The 250's handling and power really impresses me, even a little 250 can do interstate speeds very easily and can hit the higher speeds without any hesitation, 80mph + is silky smooth. People are always worried about their ego of riding a 250 and end up buying a 600 or a 1000 without a lot of experience and arent prepared for the power or weight those bikes have. If you have little or no riding experience there is no better machine than kawasaki's ninja 250, It has the forgiveness that a new rider needs, Its definetley a sexy bike, Its light and its no slouch. High speed turns are a blast on this bike as well as slow speed manuevers that are a little tricky on a bigger bike. All in all its a great machine and give it a 10 all the way. Read Full Review

2009 250 Ninja - Best Bang 4 The Buck!!!

Okay, I went into the dealer the day before thanksgiving to look for an entry level bike for my petite wife, who has decided she'd rather learn to ride her own scooter, than ride on the back of mine. I got the 2009 250 Ninja for less than MSRP, due to the time of year and the economy, and was total...ly surprised when I took it home! It feels like a bicycle with an engine! This bike corners, brakes, and handles like it was formed to me, and I still haven't broke it in yet! The 17" wheels are a huge improvement over the previous model. I also appreciated having a functional fuel guage instead of a useless temperature guage. I must admit, I ignored the 600 mile break in a couple of times and was surprised at how quickly it grabs it revs! Yet, it lets you stay in complete control! I've owned big bore crotch rockets and while this is a small bike, its incredibly fun to ride! I've ridden and owned over fifty bikes in my lifetime, and I can honestly say this is one of the easiest bikes I've ever ridden! If you just want to have fun riding motorcycles, and don't care if it its the latest, fastest, street version of a racer, than this is the best bang for the buck!!! Don't be fooled... this bike will kick @$$

I was the proud owner of a yamaha R6 for many years. The R6 was fast, responsive, nimble, and very uncomfortable on long rides. I sold it last year when it started to give me transmission issues (I bought it used with high mileage). As I was looking for a new bike to buy the ergonomically designe...d ninja 250r caught my eye. Sure it was only a 250 but the seating position along with the handle bars were very comfy. As for power, 30 hp may seem a little light but the high revving motor gets the job done. The ninja 250r handles exceptionally in the corners and can keep up with almost anything. If you don't mind a top speed that's just over 100mph this bike is perfect. If your looking for ridiculously fast this bike wont deliver, but if your a smaller person (like me, 5'6" 135 lbs) this bike is the best deal under the sun. Read Full Review

Ninja 250 = fun fun fun!

While deciding on what bike to get to begin my motorcycling, I considered getting a 600cc bike to "grow into." I am a medical student who is going into emergency medicine this coming June, and as such have seen many people make the wrong choice and buy the wrong motorcycle for their skill ...level. While getting a 600cc or bigger motorcycle may seem like a good idea at first, the risk versus benefit ratio is grossly lopsided towards getting into an accident with larger bikes. While deciding on a 250cc or similar motorcycle, the Ninja sticks out initially because of its attractive package. With fairings and paint that resemble the big boys, you can be proud to zip around town in your Ninja. This comes with the added bonus of feeling as safe as one can on top of a motorcycle. Not to say that the lack of horsepower translates into less fun. On the contrary, the 250 responds with great zeal as you turn the throttle. I have gone on several canyon runs with this machine so far and can say that it handles nimbly through the twisties and leaves a grin on your face. So if you're just starting to ride motorcycles or are a seasoned vet, the ninja 250 will provide a butt kicking good time. Read Full Review

My First Motorcycle

I bought this bike when it first came out, the beginning of the riding season last year. I absolutely love it! A great, affordable bike, that looks much sportier than the earlier 250's. I'm looking forward to a fender-eliminator kit this year for even better styling.

I would recommend th...is bike for any beginning sport bike rider. It's not a bike you'll want to trade in after a year. I'm ready to keep mine for quite some time.
