ZX1400 Limited Edition Owner
By (I am an Owner) on Nov 12, 2013I bought my ZX1400 Limited EDition November 2006 when they first came out. I had owned a 1983 GPZ1100 and thought that was the fastest bike on earth. I must now state that the GPZ1100 was nothing compared to the ZX1400. This bike is the fastest bike that I have ever driven. I am going on 64 years ... of age and have driven just about everything. If you want a bike that will always thrill you, buy a ZX1400 and enjoy the ride. Since purchasing this bike, I have not had any problems. This is a great bike, but you must respect it because of it's power.

great bike
By (I am an Owner) on Dec 11, 2011I have the o7 special edition.I am 52 and have owned several bikes including a 2000 busa,04zx10,08zx10,08gsxr1000 which I sold and bought the zx14.
In stock form the power delivery is soft.Bike is restricted in first 4 gears.Secondarys don't open until 7000 rpm's.I installed Ivan's tree which ... tricks the ecm and opens the secondarys at 3000 rpm's.Huge difference.Only drawback is you lose the gear indicator and the launch light.I also installed 16 tooth front sprocket and scorpion slip-on's.Bike pulls much harder now.

Best bike ever!!!
By (I am an Owner) on Apr 29, 2011First off, I've owned several sport bikes ranging from CBR's to R1's. My current stalls in my garage house a 2006 Suzuki Katana GSX600FK6 and my 2007 Special Edition Kawasaki Ninja ZX14R.
I have always been a Suzuki guy. That being said, I've always been partial to the 'Busa. ... However, after finding an unbelieveable deal I could not pass up on this Ninja, I went for it and bought it over the phone and told the owner I would be there in 3 hours to pick it up. I have never even ridden a bike of this caliber before. Sure the R1 I owned was fast, but rediculously uncomfortable. I owned it for a few weeks and sold it to buy my now current 06 Katana; A bike which I've come to fall in love with. However, after I rode the ZX14R home, I haven't ridden the Katana since. The ZX14 has the best of every world. It is comfortable enough to take cross country, powerful enough to beat almost every stock motorcycle and supercar out there. I have power wheelied it several times in first gear and does so with ease once you get up to about 8k rpm. At the same time, this bike does not have a power band. The power is so smooth it's not like riding a full on "crotch rocket" where the power kicks in at about 10k rpms.
When it comes to handling, this thing feels just as agile as my old CBR 600. It's very easy to turn both standing still and while driving.
The only downside to owning this bike is that you better be pretty well off when it comes to living comfortably ($$$ wise) It eats up tires (depending how hard you are on the throttle and what kind of driving you do) and the insurance will literally put you in the poor house. So definately check with your insurance provider before even considering one. I am the perfect example. I am a 21 year old male and Progressive (which happened to be the cheapest) charged me $5,800 a year for full coverage. They charged me $780 for my Katana for the same coverage just to give you an example. So I have found myself getting just liability. If you are older though insurance shouldn't be so bad. I guess most insurance companies figure that a 21 year old male with a vehicle that can attain speeds of over 200mph is a high risk for injury. Hehehehe :)
Hope this review helped!

Awsome
By (I am an Owner) on Dec 12, 2009I have a 2007 special Edition bike. Talk about fun. It turns heads like crazy. Got a wild hair you-know-where one week and rode it 400+ miles from Ga to Fl. Talk about sore. But it was fun to out run interstate traffic. Had to find a more comfortable pillow on the way back tho. But the bike handles ... great. I've added Angle Eyes to casue I want to change the coor skeme. Fantastic Bike.

Old man's ROCKETchair!
By (I am an Enthusiast) on Jun 03, 2009When you reach the age I have (63), you are astounded that you've actually made it. Yet at the same time, if you're as fortunate as I, you are even more astonished that you don't really feel much different from when you were much, much younger. Oh sure, you've got aches and pains for no apparent ... reason, you've lost a step or two, but you still have the same wants and needs that you've always had - to ride a really fast motorcycle. And believe you me, the ZX14 fills that bill; better than any other production motorcycle on the planet. My 2007 "Ninja" is big, black and beautiful. It's been clocked (well, not MY bike), stock, by one of the enthusiast magazines at 187.2 MPH. It's credited with a 2.5 second 0-60 time and I do believe it, I do believe it's true even though I'll never attain it; not enough skill, too much weight and too healthy a respect for the physics involved. It's a thrill ride at any speed however and provides me with a pride of ownership not to be believed. It certainly does everything you could ask a motorcycle to do. Check one out at the dealership soon.

One wicked machine!
By (I am an Owner) on Apr 07, 2009These bikes are completely smoothe and controllable and yet completely, wickedly, fast! If you have never ran through the gears on one at WOT, then you dont know what fast is. Its like a hyper-drive sensation where everything around you turns into a blur and objects in your rearview mirror disapear ... quickly. The bike remains perfectly stable at speed and thats where it gets dangerous. It never feels unsettled and you forget just how fast you are flying. Luckily, you have first rate brakes to help you out! Overall one of the best bikes ridden.
