King of the Twisties and the most Balanced 600cc
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 08, 2020This bike is absolutely fantastic! It will do everything you ask without hesitation. The 600rr is a 599cc beautiful in-line 4 and is arguably one of Honda(TM)s best engine designs. You get a little bit of everything with this bike when it comes to reliability, power, handling, and comfort. As long ... as you upkeep on oil changes and do all the necessary scheduled adjustments and tunings you will have absolutely no problem reaching 100k trouble free miles! When it comes to power, that(TM)s where she may not be all there. The 600rr is one of the weaker bikes in the 600 class of bikes, however with a little bit of tuning and a new ecu you can squeeze more power out of her. Regardless there 600rr stock will still have more power than you need on the streets. When it comes to handling, this bike has to be the best handling 600 out there. Period. The bike is very light and has a very low center of gravity making cornering absolutely effortless as butter smooth. Handling at high speeds is also butter smooth with no bar shaking (on smooth road of course) thanks to Honda(TM)s Electronic Steering Dampner (HESD. Lastly I have sat and rode a lot of 600s, a lot of super sports for that matter and the 600rr has to be the most street friendly and comfortable in its class. I have done many long multiple hour commutes on this bike with little to no discomfort. As a 6ft 2 individual I have no problems fitting on this bike. My tuck position is perfect and both standard and upright position is comfortable. That being said is this the best 600cc out there? In my opinion, hands down! Is this the best super sport for the price? If you get the non-abs version of this I would say mostly yes. (I cannot give my opinion on this bike when it comes to track riding as I have yet to take this one out to a track, however the 600rr is one of the most popular track bikes out there so I(TM)m sure you can find a ton of track reviews for this bike)
Pros:
Excellent Handling in Corners
Excellent Reliability
Plenty of Aftermarket parts out there
Redlines at 15,000rpm!!!! (Absolute screamer)
Lots of torque up top
Has a fuel gauge!!!
Under tail Exhaust
Matte Black makes this bike looks so good
Cons:
Stock wheels are meh
One of the weaker bikes in the 600cc class
Has absolutely no bottom end torque. Anything below 8,400rpm it will take time to get that power you need. Once above 8,400 you will instantly feel the power.
As nice as the Matte Black looks, it is a royal pain to keep clean and scratches easily.
I believe any 600rr above the year 2007 has been de-tuned for emissions purposes, however can absolutely retune bike to get all this motor has to offer but with a price $$$
