Still lovin' it
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 28, 2013My last review was in February of 2010, it is now March 2013. I have many more miles on the bike(40k), all trouble free. This bike has delivered every time. Since my last review, I've installed the removable tour pak rack and gotten a solo seat for use when the wife is not around. I have over ... 40k on the bike and she is running strong. I had to replace the rear brake switch (25.00), one rear brake light, a set of brake pads and two sets of tires. Other than that, nothing. I still do my own maintenance and enjoy every minute of riding andworking on the bike.

2008 Electra Glide Classic
By (I am an Owner) on Jan 13, 2009The Classic sits between I should have spent the extra money for the Ultra to a bike of nostalgic touring bike. I paid for a stage I air cleaner kit and the Screaming Eagle performance slip-on pipes (80721-09)which made all the difference in performace. Money well spent. I also upgraded the tour ... pak to the Ultra tour pak for safety reasons. I wanted to be seen at night. The bike is what I wanted. Not too much and too little for the touring comfort of not being too bulky. I didn't want the lowers because I wanted enough wind to feel the road. If I become too cold or the weather is getting nastily (is that a word?) wet, I just put on my Harley wet weather gear. We do not use the radio during our tours because I cannot hear through my full face helmet. My wife and I both use our separate iPods which holds more the enough tunes to get us through the day. We use hand signals for rest, gas, and potty stops. No problem. The other Ultra riders I talk with use the CB when riding in groups for communication, other than that why pay for all the gizmos you really do not use?

2008 Harley Davidson Classic
By (I am an Owner) on Nov 25, 2008Naturally I should have spent the additional 2k and got the ultra. I've spent that much already getting lowers, j&m intercon etc. I also had a 2004 Yamaha Royal Star Venture but the weight and gear whine drove me crazy. The Classic 6 speed is great. It's more quiet than my Yamaha and feels ... quite a bit lighter. It IS hot in traffic. Planning on getting the mid heat shields. Power is down from the Venture but I don't miss it the engine and 6 speed trans is so smooth. there are more accessories from HD and after market to make this bike your own. Original seat is not condusive to hard riding, neither for driver or passenger.
