Bike you do not want to RIDE!!!

I always loved the Softail and I have had Harleys before and have a Sportster as well. So, I just recently bought a 2008 Softail. I put $3000.00 in modifications to my taste and got struck with a HOT, HOT, HOT, bike that I want to ride home and park. Looks GREAT and rides GREAT but I want to jump... off the bike because it is so hot. Unbelieviable, that Harley does not inform their protential buyers better. Now I will have to spend more money to try to correct this problem. We know Harley is already overprice and are willing to pay the price, but this is rediculious and the sound SUCKS!!! Do I have a Harley or a Honda??? I am going to have to spend thousands more to make it sound like a real Harley. Very, very disappointed and irrate with the amount of money I am spending. 2007 FXSTC and 2009 FXSTSSE2

Both bikes were very costly to purchase. At the price I expected the bikes to be ready to "cruise"-- NOT SO --Both bikes ran exceptionally HOT which limited their use to highway riding,that is,unless I wanted to FRY my lower extremities !!

H.D. knows about this problem and has n...o real cure for it. They merely state that the new motors are made to run warm due to E.P.A. mandates. H.D.sold me an oil cooler that somewhat helped the problem. When I finally invested in an aftermarket oil cooler both bikes did cool down to normal temps. Only $1000.00 later and I could ride these overpriced legends (outdated
machines designed only to get my,and your money).
If you want to make a fashion statement--go ahead and buy a H.D.,however if you want to enjoy riding --do your homework and find another brand of cycle. Read Full Review
