2010 250 Super Sherpa
By (I am an Owner) on Jan 24, 2011The 2010 model was only $224 more than the 2009. It is better than I expected. I bought this bike based on other reviews I had read from around the world. This little dual purpose bike is perfect for me and out performs my previous expectations on and oof road. It gets 80 mpg and sounds great. The ... seat could have a little more comfort to it, but it is better than the equivalent Suzuki or Yamaha models. I give this bike a definite thumbs-up!!
This bike could have a better rack/tie down on it. Kawasaki racks are no longer available according to the dealerships. A tach would also be nice.

Love it!
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 04, 2010I purchased a used 2000 in 2002 and have enjoyed it ever since. Absolutely no problems, efficent, reliable, practical (can you tell that I'm an engineer?)--and so much fun! I just went out and got a new 2009 model even after checking out the competition. Except for the new color scheme, it's the ... same bike as my 2000. Why mess with success and a refined design. Build quality is great and I like the style. Engine is smooth with good power delivery. Spoke with other owners who love these great bikes as much as I do. With the special pricing, get one while you can. I hope that Kawi brings them back again as it looks like 2009 is the last year in the USA, at least for now.

Way cool bike ........
By (I am a Writer) on May 11, 2010Love this machine, somehow my old '99 KLR had gotten too tall to get my legs over the saddle and the electric start is a relief. Very easy to ride, has all the power etc. I want and will go anywhere.
I have a 5 mile, 4WD commute across the desert that was destroying my truck, but this ... bike makes the rough drive nothing but pure fun.

Glad they're back!
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 01, 2009The 250 Kawasaki Super Sherpa was not available in the U.S. since 2003. It is a low cost, reliable, fun dual purpose bike. Low seat height, low weight, close turning radius, strong reliable engine, 6 speed transmission, tuneable suspension, good ground clearance, 2-up capability and able to run at ... highway speed. Besides all that it's fun to drive...feels like a trials bike.
I've had mine a month...glad they're back!

Best Bang for the BUCK!
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 30, 2009I purchased this bike purely for fun. I just had to have it. I love the old school look and love the ride. I wish we had more hills and off road areas here in florida but i'll take what i can get. Very smooth engine at speeds. I get a lot of people asking me about the bike...what year is it? ... That is my favorite question!!

Extremely balanced dual-sport
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 14, 2009This is a great dual sport bike! I chose it because it is about 30 pounds lighter with a couple inches shorter seat height than the KLX 250. It has a torquey, powerful engine, yet it's very smooth with low vibration at cruz speed. In contrast, my Yamaha XT 225 feels like it will vibrate apart. The ... transmission feels solid and shifts lightly, quickly and positively and has the perfect ratios.
It is a bit cold blooded but with simple jetting adjustments it warms up quickly and really comes alive. The forks are not bad, as good as the Yamaha XT 225 and the Honda CRF 230F but I do wish it had cartridge forks. Please, Kawasaki are you listening?
I like it so much I bought a second one for my son and wife!
