Yamaha championship race replica contest

Competition only available for Europeans
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Nov. 19, 2009
Yamaha Motor Europe has launched a contest where three winners can take home a race replica of Valentino Rossis, Ben Spies or Cal Crutchlows world championship-winning motorcycles.

Open only to Europeans (to the disappointment of racing fans here in the U.S.A. and other non-eligible countries), the contest offers three grand prizes: a Rossi Fiat Yamaha replica R1, a Spies Yamaha World Superbike replica R1, and a Crutchlow World Supersport replica R6. All three motorcycles are dressed in replica livery.

Additional prizes include Yamaha championship t-shirts designed by Rossis helmet designer Aldo Drudi.

The Rossi replica has blackened rims, carbon protection cover, carbon rear fender, double bubble sport screen, seat cover, Öhlins TTX rear shock and Termignoni exhaust. The R1 is dressed in Fiat Yamaha colors with sponsor labels and Rossis #46.

The Spies R1 is similar to the Rossi replica except with an Akrapovic exhaust and the Sterilgarda #19 paint.

The Crutchlow R6 also has an Akrapovic exhaust and several carbon protection covers but lacks the black rims. It is dressed in Crutchlows #35 livery.

To promote the contest, Yamaha has produced a video featuring Rossi, Spies and Crutchlow handing over the keys to their motorcycles.

The contest celebrates a tremendous year for the Tuning Fork company, with MotoGP rider, team and manufacturer titles, World Superbike and Supersport titles, as well as rider and manufacturer titles in World Motocross MX1, AMA Supercross and World Endurance racing.

Those living in an eligible country can enter the contest at http://www.yamaha-racing.com/competition/. The deadline for entry is Nov. 30.
