Team Yamaha in VIR WERA Endurance race

Bostrom, Hayes and Paris set to compete
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Aug. 07, 2009
Ben Bostrom, Josh Hayes and Melissa Paris have signed on to compete in the Aug. 8 WERA Endurance race at Virginia Internatonal Raceway.

Yamaha AMA racers Bostrom and Hayes will race with Sam Gaige in the four-hour endurance race on the M3 Racing R1 while Paris, Hayes wife, will join Mike Cerone and Miles Thornton on the Markbilt/GYT-R R6.

For Hayes, a former WERA 600 Superstock and Heavyweight Superstock champion, the race means returning to his WERA roots.

This is where it started for me many years ago and I'm excited to get to race with Ben and Sam, says Hayes. So far this year we have been competing against each other so it will be nice to be on the same team!

Married couple Josh Hayes and Melissa Paris are both scheduled to compete in the WERA Endurance event at VIR.

Hayes sits fourth in the AMA American Sportbike standings with three wins and 281 points, just ahead of Bostrom who has 273 points. Paris has had a notable 2009 racing season as well, finishing 21st in the Daytona 200 and qualifying for the World Supersport event at Utahs Miller Motorsports Park.
