The seven-time F1 champion has impressed motorcycle racing fans with demonstrations of his two-wheeled prowess since his retirement from auto racing last year. Schumacher wore Schuberth helmets behind the F1 racing wheel, and he has developed a strong relationship with the German company.

“After seven years together in Formula 1 a cooperation with Schuberth is a logical continuation for me,” says Schumacher. “Nevertheless, the deciding factor is not the successful past but the products’ sustainability.”

Schumacher will be testing out the new Schuberth RACE helmet. Weighing under 32 oz, the Schuberth RACE has integrated air conditioning and offers a large field of vision.

“Together with Michael Schumacher our engineers have done a fantastic job,” says Oliver Schimpf, technical director at Schuberth GmbH. “During the test, Michael worked precisely like we have seen in Formula 1. He made statements which allowed us to progress immensely.”

Among Schumacher’s suggestions was to change the helmet’s design to include glossy black surfaces on a matte black background.

“We are delighted to be able to continue the collaboration with Michael Schumacher after seven successful years and four world championships together,” says Marcel Lejeune, managing director of Schuberth GmbH. “After all, he is the world’s most perfect test driver, both on four and on two wheels.”
