Duhamel to race AMA Superbike at Laguna Seca

Five-time Daytona 200 winner to make AMA Superbike return
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Jul. 14, 2010
Miguel Duhamel will compete in the Laguna Seca round of the 2010 AMA American Superbike Championship.

Second on the all-time AMA Superbike wins list (with 32 victories, behind only Mat Mladins 72 wins), Duhamel will team with southern California dealer Moto Forza and NovaTac Racing to ride a Ducati 1098R at the July 25 Laguna Seca round. Duhamel hasnt competed in an AMA Road Race since the 2009 Daytona 200.

Duhamel will be racing in support of TERI (Training, Education & Research Institute), a private non-profit agency serving children and adults with autism and other developmental and learning disabilities.

Miguel Duhamel is a five-time Daytona 200 winner.

We are very happy to have the opportunity to combine our passion for racing with TERIs efforts, says Balz Renggli, owner of Moto Forza. We applaud their openness to explore new avenues of communication to bring this growing disability to the publics eye, and to have Miguel Duhamel join us in that effort is simply phenomenal.

Though the team is only planning to compete at Laguna Seca, Renggli says Moto Forza may enter other rounds in the future.

At this point we are only looking to do this one event, says Renggli. If we can secure funding, more races later this year may be possible. We will continue to work with TERI and our current sponsors to see what we can put together after Laguna.
