Ducati North America has announced the release of a documentary on the Italian brand’s history.

Available on DVD for the first time in North America, “Ducati – The Story” explores company’s origins in 1926 through to Casey Stoner’s 2007 MotoGP World championship.

“This is a new way to tell the story,” says Livio Lodi, curator of the Ducati Museum. “As if leafing through an old photo album or speaking with a wise old relative, the story gives a fascinating view not only of Ducati, but also of Italy’s history. For me, it is vitally important that we share this story with Ducati fans all over the world.”

The film features rare footage and photography from the company’s history. Highlights include Paul Smart’s victory at the 1972 Imola 200 on the Ducati 750 which sparked Ducati’s successful Superbike program, Superbike racing footage and Ducati’s MotoGP debut in 2003.

“Ducati – The Story” is available now at authorized Ducati dealerships for $39.90.
