Ducati Partners With Mercedes- AMG

AMG to sponsor MotoGP team

Mercedes-Benzs luxury high performance arm AMG and Ducati have formed a new partnership including sponsorship of Ducatis MotoGP team.

The German automaker announced the partnership at Mercedes presentation at the Las Angeles Auto Show. MotoGP racer Nicky Hayden and Ducati President and Chief Executive Officer Gabriele del Torchio were on hand for the presentation. The presentation also marked the North American debut of the Ducati Diavel which premiered alongside the new Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG.

Well, if this is my company bike and this is my company car, Id say Im doing pretty well, says Hayden about the partnership.

The Ducati Diavel and the Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG, the two newest additions to Nicky Hayden's garage.

Nicky Hayden performs what may be the first Ducati Diavel burnout in North America.

Ducati and Mercedes-AMG will collaborate on marketing and sponsoring activities. AMG will be the official car partner for Ducatis MotoGP team and riders Hayden and Valentino Rossi in 2011. Ducati motorcycles will be available for test rides at select AMG events, while AMG cars will similarly be available at select Ducati events.

Ducati and Mercedes-Benz do have a previous working relationship. Mercedes-Benz took part at the 2010 World Ducati Week, presenting a special edition SLK200 Kompressor Naked model.
