Ducati owners who park their bikes on Ducati Island or designated parking areas will be entered in the Ducati Island Showdown. At the end of the day Friday and Saturday, select motorcycles will be tagged and entered for Sundays Island Showdown. Winners will be announced in five categories, Superbike, air-cooled, vintage, modified and wildcard. The Ducatisti showed their pride at the 2008 Indianapolis Grand Prix.
MotoGP racers Nicky Hayden, Miko Kallio and Niccolo Canepa will be signing autographs at the Island.

New for 2009 is the Ducati Museum, a 1,000 square foot display of Ducati history featuring a selection of street and race machines.

Also new is a display featuring the Ducati Monster. The Ducati Monster Experience features custom bikes including an Indy-themed Monster 1100.

The Ducati Island will also host a silent auction benefiting the Make A Wish Foundation. Auction items include a Desmosedici RR tail section signed by Nicky Hayden, a Hayden-autographed snowboard and Ducati MotoGP apparel.

The Foremost Pegram Racing team will be at the Island with its AMA race-winning Superbikes and the 1098R Troy Bayliss Edition.

And for a taste of Italian culture, the Island will host the Ducati Bocce ball court. The Italian Heritage Society of Indianas Bocce League will be present to teach people how to play the sport.
