Striple
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 28, 2008I have had the bike for 6 months now, and I can honestly say not a day goes by where I do not think about being on that bike rather than in my oversized gas guzzling truck. The look is mean, fresh and stylish. Performance is great, good torque for revving out of tight turns. Acceleration is right ... on. The comfort of the riding position is great for whippin around town. And when you have the flyscreen and visor package installed you can really duck down and avoid the wind on the highway at a better than average rate of speed. So you can ride it like a cruising bike and duck down like a crotchrocket when you need to, and believe me you will need too! The sound of the engine and exhaust is distinctive, and quiet, good for me because I have a 2 year old at home who I don't need to wake up with the volumous roar of an american built overachiever. Surprisingly my girlfriend says the passenger gusset is very friendly and comfortable enough for her. I am 34 and she is 22 so she is a great compliment to the bike itself, only sorry she does not come with a factory package deal. But hey maybe the dealers can work out something in the future for us divorced middle aged men. Everywhere I take that bike I get a variety of attention from the people who say "what is that" to the older generation who want to stop and admire your bike and reminice with you about memories of the old Triumphs' that they used to have. A great buy, I reccommend this for anyone craving a all around good bike.

Great bike; great value
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 17, 2008I've owned the street triple for several months now and feel it is an excellent value for the money. It has a lot of torque from tick-over to redline. The handling is very good in town, in the twisties, or on the open road. The brakes aren't quite up to the Daytona standard, but are still more than ... adequate. The suspension is not adjustable (preload only), but the set-up is good for most riders. Rough roads do tend to upset things a little and track day riders will want an upgrade. The throttle can be abrupt at times, but most riders will adapt easily. This bike works well as an everyday ride, except tight maneuvers can be tricky because of the short lock-to-lock distance. For the price, I can't think of any other motorcycle that is a better value. But be warned, this bike will bring out the hooligan is you. For those wanting a track-day bike, you might consider the new R version.
