Love this little guy
By (I am an Owner) on Jun 27, 2019I had to sell my Harley and gold wing to help a family member with medical bills. I picked this 2004 up for $800. It needed a front tire and fork seals and I had the rollers replaced... thankfully befor they died. The bike has 72000 km on it. I use it for back and forth to work and small ... errands I put over 600 km a week on it
So it(TM)s surprised me. It(TM)s comfy for my 6.1 frame. I(TM)m getting great mileage at 3.2 L/100 km. It zips through traffic. I don(TM)t feel like I(TM)m on a small bike. I can move myself around. I(TM)ve ridden it at 2 to 30c and it(TM)s comfortable. Love the underseat storage
So far I am very happy with my bike and will be keeping it for cummuter duties when I guy my new gold wing this summer

converted codger
By (I am an Owner) on Jan 02, 2010I have been riding motorcycles for 49 years and always had at least 2 at any one time,22 was the most I had, and over that time I have owned three scooters, the first being a N S U 150,The second 180 Gilera 2stroke,And last and still in use a Burgy, mine is an early 2000 model with a few mods,
could ... do with a bit more ground clearence ,as the road holding is very good, cornering is almost as good as my vfr,But the scoot has comfort excellent fuel consumption around 70ish, some where to keep your helmet and waterproofs, and on long runs you can move your legs to feet forward or back,my last trip was down to Italy, and the south of france, maintaining a good
average speed, with the mods it will show 105mph on the clock, the gps disagrees with this and puts it at 95ish,I have been thinking about replaceing the old girl ,but decided to treat her to a bit of custom paintwork ,I was looking for vehicle wrap graphics but had no luck, they only wanted big jobs, and flat panels.

Great First Bike
By (I am an Owner) on Jun 27, 2009I purchased this bike brand new in 2005. I took my motorcycle endorsement test and later took the MSF basic course on it.
It was a great first bike and I rode it more than I drove my car that first summer I had it.
My only complaint is that I found it to be buzzy when ... hitting speeds of 55+ and found that very, very annoying.
I eventually traded it for a motorcycle, but realize now 4 years later that I was the happiest when I had this bike, so I am now contemplating going back to a maxi scooter and am looking at the silverwing vs the 650 burg.

Good bike/scooter
By (I am an Owner) on Feb 16, 2009I actually have a 2003 Burgman 400. I purchased it used with 2K miles in Sept 2005. It was 2 years old and like new. I currently have 13K miles on it and have had no problems other than headlight replacement multiple times. I didn't use OEM for replacement of the headlight bulbs because they ... were excessively over priced by Suzuki ($75 each). I found that after market worked and would fit if you bent in the two metal edges of the frame of the headlights. The current headlights have been working for nearly 18 months (so it works). During the $4 gallon gas, my bike cost me less than $10 per week for gas and if I drove my truck it would have been about $55 per week.
The scooter rides nice and I am very satisfied with it.
I change my own oil and recently did the radiator which was a 6 hour project with all the parts to remove. I recommend the bike for anyone interested.
