4 yrs of dependable low maintainence cruising
By (I am an Owner) on Jun 12, 2012I have test ridden the 2012 VN900 Custome SE, It's still similiar to my 2009, fith gear seems a little longer, and the seat seems more comfortable then my stocker.
After owning my ride for 4 yrs, having regular service done and putting 18K on the odometer, I find myself wanting to look at ... something bigger and look at what is out there, ROK member's get to test ride some newer models.
The Valquero is impressive and yet there must be 20 bikes out there in the price range and size. and sadly most get 35 mpg with a 5+ gallon tank & have terrible range.
What still amazes me is that when I am shopping, all the newer and bigger bikes get compared to my 2009, Vulcan 900 Custom SE. I get nearly 60 mpg on the hwy X 5.3 gal tank = over 300 miles to a tankful and that's impressive range for any bike, It does everything I ask of it, including light touring. I just come back to being very content with what I already own. I would imagine the same model or the LT, with a 6 speed, Full fairing and hard bags, would have to be about the best bike ever for touring and economy.
