Thirty Years Later
By (I am an Owner) on Aug 29, 2009This is my first bike in 30 years. What a machine. The Goldwing has it all, comfort, power, handling, looks, etc... I owned 2 Suzukis when in my teens and twentys. I thought the 750 was a smooth bike, it couldn't carry water to this Goldwing. I've had it a month and have been throttled by having ... this learners permit again, no riding after dark and can't take the Mrs. but still having fun. Will take the ride test next week. This bike performs so well it's hard to believe that such a bike even exists. The acceleration is fantastic in any gear, the heated grips, seats, and fairing make it easy to ride in shirt sleeves at 50 degrees. The sound system is good. It's just an overall great bike. Bought mine as a left-over and got a great deal, the bike is speced the same as the 2009. I don't figure I got hurt on that. I would recommend this bike to anyone in the notion for a touring bike, you won't go wrong.

1800 Gold Wing Trike
By (I am an Owner) on Apr 27, 2009I have a 2008 Gold Wing Trike and I am a very short person but i don't have any leg room. The seat needs to be back about another 5 inches to make it a comfortable ride. Other than the no leg room its a great Bike.

Buy it...you'll like it!
By (I am an Owner) on Dec 11, 2008Bought it new in April 08 and already have (12/10/08) just under 8,000 miles. Drove it from Hou. to Fla. Never tired. Went staight through to Pensecola the first day and only stopped because it was late at night. Great power when you need to get away from the tail gaters, excellent and sure breaking, ... great sound..(I use the MP3 player and satellite radio...go figure...$59.00 for each of them vs. $1,000 for 8 disc changer). Smooth and quiet ride and I have had amazing compliments on the bike from strangers where ever I go. In June I plan on riding it out to the west coast. Buy the Harley for name and noise...Goldwing for comfort.

Gold Wing - Great Touring Bike
By (I am an Owner) on Nov 27, 2008I bought my first Gold Wing this year at 43 yrs old and I wish I had bought one earlier. Everyone said it was for the "Depends" crowd but are they wrong. The Gold Wing has lots of power, a great stereo and eats up the miles on those long trips. I frequently drive from St Louis to Dallas and that ... 11hr trip is a blast on this bike. Talk about a attention getter! I've never owned something that gets so many looks. People constantly stop to comment on how cool it looks. It's easy to ride and I can ride hundreds of miles a day with no problem. I'm planning a lot of scenic rides next summer. I loaded it up with some Nelson-Rigg bags, CB and a IPod. Get one know before they start shipping from Japan in 2010!!!

new bike/trike
By (I am an Owner) on Nov 10, 2008Before I bought a highway bike, I talked to a lot of big touring bike owners. Harley, BMW, and Victory riders all told me the same thing; buy the Goldwing 1800. It was triked by Champion day one. The day I picked it up, I had to head north 450 miles. I admit I was tense for a while but it was so ... smooth that the bike and I settled into each other quickly. After 1k miles, I am very pleased. It accellerates well in city or interstate traffic: braking is solid and smooth: audio/nav/comfort controls are easily memorized for feel without searching: the seat/grip heaters are ok but I will reccomend aftermarket fairing shields to keep the sides of legs warmer.

This is not your Fathers Gold Wing
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 18, 2008I thought for so many years that the GOLD WING was an old mans bike. What a mistake I was making!
I have missed many years of enjoyable riding by not buying a Gold Wing sooner.
This bike handles extremly well. The Power is enormous-no downshifting to pass on the highway.
With ... the adjustable windshield you can adjust to your liking. No need to purchase an aftermarket shield.
The sound system is by far the best out there--you can hear everything clearly cruising @ 75 MPH.
Heated seats-Heated Grips-Vents to send warm air from the engine to your legs and feet. Man this is LUXURY TOURING at its BEST!
Most motorcycle people want to individualize their bikes. Every single aftermarket part that I have purchased fits like an OEM component and nothing needed to be tweaked to get it to fit.
Honda thinks about its Buyers.
I installed some HID fog lights--EVERYTHING was prewired by Honda including the switch location in the fairing.
POWER-HANDLING-COMFORT-PREMIUM SOUND what more can you ask for?
Please Note:
I have owned over 17 motorcycles from sportbikes to cruisers to other touring bikes including--BMW's K1200LT.
This is a GREAT bike for hitting the highways @ 80 or cruising through town @ 30.
The bike mags are correct for rating this the BEST LUXURY TOURER out there-year after year!
