MO Is Watching!

Cool news from the Great White North, eh: Paradigm Advanced Technologies, a Toronto-based wireless location-based "L-Commerce"company announced today that it has begun shipping their Vehicle Location Tracking Devices. Basically, this is a GPS that, at eight ounces, is small and light enough to be built into a motorcycle.

One of their products is based on the Mobitex wireless network, the same one that powers the nifty RIM wireless web/e-mail pads that we've been using here at MO for a couple years. Think of the possibilities! Wouldn't it be nice to have MO's homepage know where your bike is and generate local weather and traffic reports for you in real time? And e-mail them to you early Saturday and Sunday mornings?

Maybe then MO and the 'Net would be useful, instead of a good way to blow time at work...

No word yet on which, if any, motorcycle manufacturers are going to incorporate this into their bikes, but we think it's only a matter of time before all of the big touring rigs have GPS/LCD displays built in...
