Cheapest Way to 200mph - Has Somebody Already Tried It?

Gentlemen;
I am a certain age, and I would like to join the El Mirage or Bonneville 200 mph club before my reactions, vision, and other necessary appendages wither.
I was thinking car, because of, well, in a word, fear. However, My thinking is that the most feasible straightforward way to go that fast is get a credit union loan, buy a 'busa or such like, remove any speed limiting devices, put some correct rubber on it, an buzz down the line.
I would love to see an article from someone who has (successfully or not) made this attempt already.
