Motorcycle Retailers Spark Tourism

Huntington, West Virginia anticipates an increase in tourism, and tourist spending, thanks to the Harley-Davidson Posse Ride. The Posse Ride involves motorcyclists making a 3,000-mile journey from Mobile, Ala., to Harley-Davidson’s home base in Milwaukee through 26 states in 14 days.

Biker rallies could last for days and generate hundreds of thousands of dollars, Steele said.
The Posse ride alone could generate $250,000 in local revenue for one night by taking into account hotel rooms, restaurants and retail the 1,000 visitors will spend on, Steele said. The city needs to leave the Posse riders with a good impression, he said.

After this week, Huntington will be on the map in biker communities across the country...
