Ducati has built a limited edition replica 1098R in honor of the retiring World Superbike champion Troy Bayliss.

The 1098R Bayliss Limited Edition was presented at the 2008 EICMA show in Milan this week

The limited edition bike (only 500 will be produced) bears a special color scheme designed by Aldo Druidi. The special livery, bears Bayliss number 21 and design elements from the flag of his native land, Australia. Bayliss raced with that red, white and blue livery in his final race (and final victory) at the 2008 WSBK season finale in Portimao, Portugal.

Troy Bayliss retired with three World Superbike titles and 52 race wins. His final two victories came with this special livery.
The 1098R Bayliss Limited Edition will have the same specifications of the standard 1098R including Ducati Traction Control and a full racing exhaust system with track-use only 102dB carbon fiber Termignoni mufflers.

Each replica will also come with a numbered plaque mounted on the top fork clamp and a matching commemorative plaque with the engraved signatures of Bayliss and Ducati Motor Holding CEO Gabriele Del Torchio.
