2021 Harley-Davidson Street Bob 114 and Restyled Fat Boy 114 Headline Softail Lineup

  • Harley-Davidson announced its 2021 Softail lineup, highlighted by a new Street Bob 114 and a slightly refreshed Fat Boy 114. Joining them for 2021 are the Softail Slim, Softail Standard, Fat Bob 114, Heritage Classic, Heritage Classic 114, Low Rider S and Sport Glide. Confirming our earlier reporting, the Softail models being dropped for 2021 include the Low Rider (non-S version), Deluxe and FXDR 114, while the Breakout 114 will only be offered in some markets (but not the U.S.). We also expected the Street Bob to be discontinued, but that turned out to be half-true, with the Street Bob 114 replacing it.

Which Harley-Davidson Models Are Getting Axed?

The Softail lineup is powered by the Milwaukee-Eight 45° V-Twin engine in 107ci or 114ci displacements (1746cc or 1868cc for the metrically inclined). The engine are mounted in Harley-Davidson’s Softail chassis which offers the appearance of a hardtail frame but with a single coil-over shock hidden below the seat.

    2021 Harley-Davidson Street Bob 114

The Street Bob 114 replaces the previous 107ci Street Bob model. Harley-Davidson claims the larger engine offers a 9% quicker 0-60 mph time and is 13% quicker from 60-80 mph in fifth gear compared to the Street Bob. In addition to the displacement upgrade, the Street Bob 114 adds a pillion seat and pegs as standard.

Like the previous Street Bob, the 114 version offers a stripped-down style with chopped fenders, gaitered fork tubes, a mini-ape handlebar, a smooth-top 3.5 gallon fuel tank and a blacked-out engine highlighted by chrome push rod tubes.

Other highlights include Harley-Davidson’s Signature LED headlamp, a USB charging port, keyless ignition, security system, and digital instrumentation inset in the handlebar riser.

For 2021, the Street Bob 114 will be offered in Vivid Black, Stone Washed White Pearl, Baja Orange and Deadwood Green, all with the Harley-Davidson “Number One” logo on the tank.

    2021 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy 114

The Fat Boy 114 gets a small refresh for 2021, with shiny chrome replacing the satin chrome finish from the 2020 model. The new chromed parts include the engine and rocker covers, the 2-into-2 staggered exhaust, the headlight nacelle, the fork covers, the rear fender struts, the tank console and the air cleaner cover.

The 18-inch solid aluminum Lakester wheels return, as do the Michelin Scorcher 11 tires in the widest sizes offered on any Harley model at 160mm up front and 240mm at the back. The trimmed front and rear fenders further help exaggerate the wide tires.

Other features include a five-gallon fuel tank, Signature LED headlight, keyless ignition, and security system.

For 2021, the Harley-Davidson Fat Boy 114 will be offered in Vivid Black, Black Jack Metallic, Deadwood Green, or the two-tone Gauntlet Gray Metallic/Vivid Black.
