AMA Announces 2018 Vintage Flat Track National Championship Series Schedule

The American Motorcyclist Association has just announced the 2018 Vintage Flat Track National Championship Series Schedule. Flat track racing isn’t just for the latest and greatest machines, take a step back in time to see where two-wheel dirt track racing all started and become a part of it. Maybe even dust off that old bike that’s been sitting neglected in the corner of your garage…

PICKERINGTON, OH – February 15, 2018 – The 2018 AMA Vintage Flat Track National Championship Series will bring 11 rounds of action-packed competition to venues in six states, sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association.

The action kicks off March 10 in Georgia and ends in September at Oakland Valley Race Park in Cuddebackville, N.Y. This series was formerly known as the AMA Vintage Dirt Track National Championship.

“The 2018 AMA Vintage Flat Track National Championship series features a mix of Short Track and Half Mile events, and promises to be one of the best we’ve had,” said AMA Track Racing Manager Ken Saillant. “The sport of flat track racing dates to the earliest days of motorcycle competition, and the AMA Grand National Championship remains one of the most historic championships in all of motorsports. The AMA Vintage Flat Track National Championship Series celebrates that history and prestige like no other. This is where fans of the sport, of any age, can see history come alive or compete themselves, stepping back to a simpler time that might not have been quite as fast, but was every bit as fun as what we experience today in modern competition.”

The 2018 lineup features Volusia County Speedway in Baberville, Fla., the Illinois State Fair Grounds in Springfield, Ill., and Mid-America Speedway in Indianapolis.
