2014 Fieldsheer Riding Gear

Motorcycle apparel manufacturer, Fieldsheer, has announced its 2014 product lineup. The modest collection of 17 items touts proprietary materials adventurous motorcyclists will want to note prior to purchasing any new riding gear. A particular quality that stands out is the zippered connectivity of removable liners from the cuffs at the bottom of the jacket sleeves; so much better than snaps or buttons.

First up is Nanomax, Fieldsheer’s proprietary breathable/waterproof membrane that’s both lightweight and durable. Built to meet or exceed military specifications for extended cold weather clothing system/waterproof and breathable procurement, the nano-porous membrane has a pore size as small as 0.03 microns (1 micron = 0.001 millimeters). According to Fieldsheer, Nanomax is waterproof while featuring better breathability compared to similar products. The material is said to also have a high mechanical strength and be resistant to oils, sweat and detergents.

Next is Carboflex, a textile fabric boasting up to 70 percent the strength of leather. Carboflex is used in the stretch areas (shoulders, back, under arms) of the Sugo, Shadow and SuperSport jackets. Fieldsheer’s Phoslite is a retroreflective industrial fabric composed of wide angle, exposed retroreflective lenses used on many of its garments to increase nighttime conspicuity.

Maxtena-Pro is another high-performance fabric from Fieldsheer. Constructed of 500-denier nylon fabric, Maxtena-Pro protects from abrasion while providing a smooth finish and high durability.
