  • Many years, many bikes, many miles.
By  (I am an Owner) on Aug 03, 2016

I have owned every iteration of Yamahas big sport touring rigsand it goes without saying that the latest is the most refined.Dial in the suspension to match the load and your golden, from tight twisty back roads to droning down the highway stick the bike into 5th gear and the grunt from the torque ...

  • A great bike for the straights and twisties
By  (I am an Owner) on Jan 17, 2012

I have an 09' FJR 1300 AE (electric clutch) it is a blast riding single or in a pair, just set the hard or soft preload. I traded in a Goldwing in Aug of 2011 on an "in-the-crate" 09' and have never looked back. The bags and trunk are removable and with a passenger it will pick the fron wheel up ...

  • 2009 FJR 1300 Review
By  (I am an Owner) on Dec 05, 2010

I love this bike. I went from a Honda VTX 1800, which was a great bike, but just a little too uninspiring to ride.

The FJR is powerful, quiet, nimble, and extremely comfortable on long rides.

I looked at the Honda and Kawasaki competition bikes, and while they have ...

One description I've heasrd about the FJR is that it is a sport touring bike that emphacises the sport over the touring. I think it does, and it is exactly what the doctor ordered for my needs.

  • Sport-Touring Fun
By  (I am an Owner) on Dec 28, 2009

This is an all-around fun bike. However, those 'inseam challenged' (like me with a 31" inseam) need to lower the bike. The bike rides so smooth that you need to watch your speed. The only problem I encountered was constant stalling, but once the throttle bodies were sync'ed up this problem went away.

From my research the best in it's class.

    Good handling

    Good Ergonomics

OK power - I do miss my '06 FZ1 - but, considering the FJR weighs about 160 pounds more and has about 5 less horse power, it does pretty good, it has more power than I really need, but the FZ1 had ...

Great bike for the mountains and long distance. Good consumption figures and great acceleration.

  • Great bike.
By  (I am an Owner) on Mar 07, 2009

It is a great bike, lot of fun to ride. It has more clearance than a C14, more range and better fuel economy, 200+ miles on one tank.

It would be nice if had a cruise control, other than that it is flawless.

  • Sport Touring Supremacy
By  (I am an Enthusiast) on Jan 12, 2009

In my opinion the comfort, ridding position, power and performance that you get in this one bike is a great example of the phrase "More bang for the buck!"
