Brings a smile on the highway
By (I am an Owner) on Apr 08, 2015Bought a used 2008 FJR1300AE. I was scared of the power but the bike is really well behaved if you apply power gradually. Found myself smiling as I was going down the highway. I put on 13000 miles in 2 years commuting and looking forward to way more. Rear tire is still good as I am light on the ... throttle. Riding position is a bit leaned forward and take getting used to, even with risers. I have some vibration in the handle bars hence only good on comfort. But seat is good, heated grips and movable fairing and movable windscreen are great in winter. Standard windscreen is smallish and it gets cold at 80 mph in 40 degree weather. Excellent Motorcycle
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 15, 2008I purchased the bike one month ago and I put over 10,000 miles on it in one month. I did a 48 states ride in under 8 days after riding from OK to VT for the start. This bike is faster and handles better than my BMW (K1200RS)and comes with something you can't get with a BMW-RELIABILITY! Yes, I ... had to add some options to the Yamaha that should have as standard or an option (such as electronic cruise control, HID lights, etc.) but for the cost of the Yamaha you can still spend $4-$5K on extras and have less money in it than a Beemer. The FJR runs great on regular gas and gets over 40 mpg.
